It's pretty chilly here at the moment, but although the weather conditions on a hillside in Scotland can sometimes be challenging, by combining traditional and modern techniques and materials, our guests can stay cosy and warm!
From the outset we wanted to combine environmentally friendly principles with comfort and style, all the while acknowledging the history and heritage of the land where our hut is based.
Traditionally, huts were used by shepherds during lambing time as a shelter from elements, allowing them to watch their flock day and night while at the same time providing them with somewhere warm to eat and sleep.
To give you a wee bit of an idea of what we mean, here are some pics of the insulation going in when we were fitting the hut out a few years ago, and of the wood-burning stove which keeps everything toastie🔥🔥
