pm - 5.00 pm, the village hall hosts a Community Cafe run by a different charity each week to raise
funds for their cause. Why not call in and treat yourself to a cuppa, a home-made cake,
and a slice of village life - everyone is welcome! (Please note that there are no cafes during
August). There are also exhibitions of artwork and photographs in the hall, and don’t miss the community garden containing a fascinating sculpture, a welcoming oak and stone bench, and a fairytale-style wooden gate, all designed and created by talented Cilcain artists (www.cilcainvillagehall.com). The attractive shop (run by lovely, local volunteers) is located within the village hall next door, and is open between 8.00 am - 1.00 pm seven days a week. It is very good for everyday provisions, but also sells a great range of fresh local produce, and a range of ales and wines. The shop also runs a 'pop up' cafe in the hall on Wednesday mornings (www.cilcainvillagehall.com). The White Horse pub just a couple of doors away from the Potting Shed is a lovely, old traditional pub with an excellent reputation for good food and a great selection of local ales and gins. There are plenty of walks and cycle routes from the doorstep, with secure lock-up for bicycles.
