Right then folks, time to talk money! Now everything is organised I can confirm the price of the trip is currently £2500 in total.

I say 'currently' because I have the flights to Guayaquil 'on hold'. This means that for a certain period of time I have them in my shopping basket, shopping around for a better deal. Should a better deal come along then I will pass that deal on to you.

So should anyone want to pay in installments between now and the final pay date, I can send you a link and you can pay what you want, when you want until the final payment is due 3 months before travel - which is November 14th. Should anyone have paid in total and a better flight price is found then a refund of the price difference will be given.

Randomly the best deal I found was flying from Birmingham, which is much closer for those of us that live in North Wales than having to travel to London! I will keep an eye open though for Manchester. Some of the flights involved having a wait of 17 hours in 1 airport and 21 hours in another! No thanks! We'll be having sensible transfer times from one flight to another and then a night in the Sheraton in Guayaquil before catching the Galapagos flight after breakfast. Much more civilised! 😉

Essential information for those who've not seen this yet - it's very useful to help know what is to come on this amazing adventure!

This trip involves day travel by boat between the various islands of the Galapagos. The good news is that seasickness can often be managed with medication and by consulting a health professional before you travel.

OK ladies and gentlemen, we have our itinerary finalised!

We fly on 14th Feb to Guayaquil where we will stay overnight in the Sheraton Hotel. We'll arrive in time to freshen up and have a meal, and get a decent night's sleep before catching our final flight to the Galapagos Islands after breakfast in the morning.

On arrival in San Cristobal we have a very short journey to our hotel for the night and we can go and explore San Cristobal for the rest of the day in preparation for joining the Intrepid tour the following day.

The next few days will be spent travelling around the islands, taking in the wildlife, eating amazing food, snorkelling with seals.... stuff heaven is made of!

Then after the final night we have breakfast and leisurely make our way from Puerto Ayora to Bellavista so enjoy one last evening in the Galapagos before our journey home the following morning.

I've attached some photos of some of the places we'll be staying jus so you get an idea of what to expect.

I have to say I am getting VERY excited now!

To those of you already booked on this trip, I'll be sending your confirmations over the next couple of days. Remember if you want to pay in installments then you're very welcome.

If you're not booked on this trip and are tempted, then pop me a message! We'd love to have you come along!

Ladies and gentlemen I can confirm we now have flights booked and accommodation for the night before the trip too! We're arriving the day before the trip starts so we can have a bit of a rest and recoup after the long flights and we can settle in before the adventure begins! Can't wait to share the full itinerary with you all over the weekend!

Just a bit excited!

Apologies folks, I've been giving mixed signals re holding fire and booking before the sale ends!

The flights won't be announced until March, so we need to hold fire booking those yet. However, we can book the Intrepid tour ahead of booking the flights, and benefit from the sale price. All that would be required to book your place on the trip is a £200 deposit.
Let me know if you have any questions! ☺️

Only 24 hours left of the Intrepid sale to benefit from up to 25% off!

(I know it says Thursday, but I need time to get the funds to head office and on to Intrepid, so cut off point is tomorrow to be 100% certain).

Again, not trying to pressure anyone, but don’t want you to miss out on the sale price if you’re ready to book! 😉

Just to give everyone an idea of total budget (which is a bit difficult as flights are not announced until 11 months before travel) - the trip is currently £1082 (sale price). We will need return flights to Quito (£500 - £1000), flights from Quito to the Galapagos and back (approx £200), and depending on flight times and dates, we may need an extra night in a hotel in the Galapagos, or in Quito. Hotels there are not too expensive.

So £2500 would more than cover it, and I am intending to bring it in comfortably less than that. x

Hi folks, just to let you know, Intrepid have extended their sale for bookings via travel agents only - it was supposed to end on Friday, but they're extending it to Thursday at 5pm!

Please be aware your deposit would need to be with me the day before to qualify as it takes a few hours to get funds transferred from head office to Merlin and I wouldn't want you to miss out!

There's no pressure here by the way, just making sure you have all the information! x

As far as face-to-face wildlife encounters go, the Galapagos wildlife experience rivals even the likes of Africa, with giant tortoises and sea lions plus extinct volcanos to climb.

Right then folks. I've been back and to looking at all the different trips. I've also had a look at getting our own flights from Quito rather than having them included in the trip and it turns out we'd save a fair bit if we did that.

Also, if we organise our own flights (we being me, don't worry!) then it means we spend the whole 7 days in the Galapagos. There are trips organised by Intrepid which include flights, but those flights happen within the 6 or 7 day trip and so we'd have two days less in the Galapagos as we'd be flying (and the cost shoots up to £2,700 - £3,300!).

So it would appear, that if we want our wallets to survive the trip, then the 7 day Galapagos trip might be 'the one'!

I know someone wasn't keen on it being a cruise (which is really handy as that was mega ££££) so would rather the accommodation be on land, and someone else was interested in scuba diving, and it specifically says on one of the cruises that it's not possible. Whereas on the land based tours, they are happy to arrange it for you.

Cheapest price in Feb next year is on 19th. So shall we aim for that? 😃
