The Tea Rooms next door to Carlton Cottage has been taken over by Jack who used to run the Downe Arms. It’s now renamed as 5B Bistro and the new menus look great. Definitely worth a visit.

The Downe Arms pub situated almost next to Carlton Cottage has recently changed hands and this is their new menu. We haven’t had chance to get up to the village to try it yet.

If you're heading into or around the National Park this weekend please take extra care and remain vigilant for any signs of wildfires - we remain on fire alert despite the recent rain.

Under no circumstance should anyone be using barbeques or lighting campfires, and do not discard ci******es, matches or glass bottles, including throwing cigarette ends out of car windows.

If you do see a fire, call 999 asking for the fire service.

Minimum of 2 night stay
Carlton Cottage (sleeps 4, 6 with sofa bed) £125 a night
Hill Cottage (sleeps 2) £100 a night.

I’ve spent a couple of days at Carlton Cottage weeding the garden and ‘tidying up’. Lunch on the patio today with bowling as entertainment. I’ll always love sitting here. 🏡💕

Lots of lovely reviews over the last few weeks. It’s fab reading that our guests have lovely holidays at both Carlton and Hill Cottages. We look forward to staying at both cottages ourselves once the farming calendar allows us to! 🏡💕

We have a variety of dates available for both cottages in the run up to Christmas 🎄.
Carlton Cottage Availability:
1st November through to 14th November and then between 6th December to 17th December.
Hill Cottage Availability:
1st November through to 14th November and 6th December to 13th December.

Hill cottage is then available from 18th December through to the new year including New Years Eve (at the moment).

3 day breaks upwards available.

Delighted to receive a 10/10 review for Hill Cottage today.

+ The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. The crockery, linen and furnishings were of the highest quality. The welcome pack was a lovely touch.
- Everything about the cottage was excellent. We could find no faults at all.
