Quarantine rules removed for under-18s entering England

The government has sought to simplify rules for all under-18s travelling to England.

From Monday, November 22nd, they will be treated as fully vaccinated at the border and will be exempt from self-isolation requirements on arrival, day eight testing and pre-departure testing.

They will only be required to take one post-arrival test and a confirmatory free PCR test if they test positive.

Changes to international travel rules

From 4am Monday 4 October 2021, the rules for international travel to England will change from the red, amber, green traffic light system to a single red list of countries and simplified travel measures for arrivals from the rest of the world. The rules for travel from countries and territories not on the red list will depend on your vaccination status.

**LUTON MPs BOTH URGE UK MINISTERS TO LOOK AGAIN AT RED LIST FOR PAKISTAN AND BANGLADESH*

I've been contacted by people from across Luton North through the night and this morning after the government slipped out its announcement that Pakistan and Bangladesh are to remain on the Red List for travel. Rachel Hopkins MP for Luton South and I have both written the below urgent letter to the Transport Secretary urging the UK government to look again at this decision.

When you look at the data, it is difficult to see the reasoning for last night's decision, especially as India now moves to Amber - but then again, the government has still not been upfront and transparent with the public and told us what its criteria is for making these decisions on travel.

I know how important this is to people in Luton, and I know people who are desperate to visit family they haven't seen for over a year, or visit ailing loved ones have been following the government's announcements incredibly closely.
