Toddler swing at Manor Green Park is out of action due to it being misused. A replacement toddler swing is on order. We urge everyone to use all of Selsey's parks' equipment responsibly.
Selsey Town Council is disappointed to report that a 14-year-old girl misused the toddler swing at Manor Green Park this week, getting herself stuck and requiring West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service to cut her out. While we thank West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service for their swift action, this unnecessary incident has left the toddler swing out of action. A replacement, costing £125, has had to be ordered, causing both inconvenience and expense. We urge everyone to use the park equipment responsibly.

🐴 Wondering if you can ride a horse along the beach? As long as riders are mindful of others, by not jumping groynes and galloping, horses can be ridden on the beach at low tide. It’s always best to check tide times and the weather forecast before you go as well.
As Siouxsie and the Banshees once said "The sun is out, the sky is blue, it's beautiful and so are you". Join us for a later-in-the-day gathering so we can enjoy a little of these special, long summer evenings, together on the beach.

Update: The bag has been found!
Attention Selsey Beach community,
A family has reported that they accidentally left behind a black and red ‘Iron Man’ bag on the beach last night. The bag is particularly important as it contains a purse with bank cards and other valuables.
They returned to the spot this morning but were unable to locate it. If anyone has found the bag or has any information about its whereabouts, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
If anyone has found the bag, please do hand it into Selsey Town Council Offices and the Town Council can reunite it with its owner.
Please share this message to help the family recover their belongings. Thank you for your support.

A yellow heat health alert has been issued for the South East, starting at 9am on 11 August, until 9am on 13 August. Vulnerable people in our communities might struggle with the heat, so please look out for them.
☀️ If you’re having a barbecue on the beach this summer; please keep barbecues away from private properties; be mindful of other beach goers by avoiding excessive smoke; and, keep a minimum of 2 metres away from the wooden groynes.
When finished, you can extinguish the barbecue with seawater and place in a bin. Barbecues retain their heat for a long time, so please do not bury hot barbecues under shingle or sand as this is very dangerous.

Make Selsey your destination
Welcome to Destination Selsey’s Official page.
Selsey is a unique seaside town, rich in history and wildlife, at the most southernly tip of West Sussex, 8 miles out into the Solent. With more sunlight hours than anywhere in the UK it is a true destination.
Steeped in the tradition of fishing, internationally famous for its seafood. It is one of the last remaining towns on the South Coast where fishermen can be witnessed bringing in the fresh catch.
Surrounded by miles of natural beaches on all but the northern side, with its bathing water rated as Excellent, Selsey caters for many activities, experiences and interests.
Beaches ideal for grabbing an umbrella and staking your claim for the day in the sunshine. Wild natural beaches for exploring by foot in all seasons. Beaches to spot the abundance of wildlife from sea birds to seals and even dolphins
Further inland its RSPB Nature Reserves of Pagham Harbour and Medmerry offer long walks and cycle rides through breath-taking rugged landscapes of panoramic views and glorious sunsets. Bursting with wildlife these reserves are a true retreat and escape from urban areas, every view is Instagram ready for capturing the perfect photograph.
Even after dark, discover Selsey’s dark skies and stars made famous by the late Sir Patrick Moore.
The town itself is bustling with independent retailers, restaurants, cafes and pubs- a visit is a great opportunity to sample Selsey’s local produce.
With over 140 Community and Arts groups there is always something going on in the town, be it live performances and concerts, sporting competitions or exhibitions and events. Selsey’s annual Lifeboat Week, the first week of August is a date not to be missed!
