Just a 10 minute drive away from our Pickering properties you’ll find theme park and zoo ‘Flamingo Land’ 🦚

From Giraffes to Rhinos, to sea lions to kangaroos, to everything in between, Flamingo Land is a lovely day out in summer to stroll around and see some amazing animals basking away in the sun 🌞

Not forgetting some breathtaking rollercoasters too of course 🎢

You could even end a lovely ‘day date’ at the exquisite Dewars which is just opposite the exit🥂

What to do on a rainy day after a very busy day of breakfasts, hosting and changeovers…….try the new foodie shop at the bottom of the street of our Pickering holiday homes 🏡

We went for the afternoon tea box 🍰

The pictures don’t show the depth and quality of all this delicious, homemade food. It really is a proper Yorkshire treat 😋

Would be perfect as a treat on arrival or as a picnic on the steam train 🚂 Dalby forest 🌳 The moors 🐑 or even Flamingo Land 🎢

Or simply pop for a warm cuppa and slice of goodness with the lovely ladies at Amazing Graze Pickering 🥪🧁🍓🍫

We can’t wait 🚂 🥂

If there’s anything we love doing in summer it’s taking the relaxed steam train upto Whitby, with a glass or two of fizz on route, walk round Whitby, fish and chips and then returning back to Pickering 😌

The station is just a 5 minute walk from two of our properties and it will take you up the beautiful scenery through the moors.
It’s dog friendly too!

You can also stop off at Goathland, Newtondale, Grosmont or Levisham 🐑

Did you know one of our holiday cottages in the heart of Pickering is pet friendly and one of our biggest rooms at our guesthouse in Hutton Le Hole is too?!

Whilst we’re lucky enough to live on a farm up ‘ont moors with plenty of land for the dogs to run around, one chocolate coloured spaniel cannot resist the urge to follow that little nose of hers to where ever it may take her!

So for those dogs that can’t be trusted off lead (just like our Ruby!) Pickering Dog Field has just the place 🐶 Completely secure your dog can run around safely till it’s hearts content from juts £5 private use 😊

There’s a little hut to watch from on grey days or grab a picnic on the way there and sit and enjoy on the picnic bench.

The best thing….it’s less than 5 minutes away from our cottage and just 15 from the guesthouse 🏡
