Good morning, everyone.
Further to Dean’s earlier post, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind valid from 00:00 until 23:59 Friday 24th January.
Storm Éowyn is expected to pass close to or across the northwest of the UK on Friday before clearing to the northeast on Saturday.
Whilst there is some uncertainty in the track of Éowyn, a spell of very strong winds is likely, initially southeasterly before turning westerly, with peak gusts of 50-60 mph inland, 60-70 mph around some coasts and hills.
Please ensure any bins, garden furniture, trampolines, and rogue Santas left from Christmas are secure.
Please check for public transport updates before travelling, and allow extra time for your journey is driving.
If you are on the coast, please be aware of large waves and stay well clear.
Take care and stay safe.
Kind regards,
Jane
