Morning all!

We’ve had a few enquiries regarding visiting the project to work alongside our staff and children with several asking if the costs are per person or per group so Bruno and I have got the calculator out and come up with a rather attractive pricing structure for you to look over.

I’ll be writing to all subscribers on our email list with more in-depth information including an info pack on how to prepare for your visit and what to expect.

We really hope this new initiative catches on and all our work building our volunteer accommodation will pay off for the project whose financial situation is precarious to say the least!

If we can have a group of 6 friends staying with us for 2 weeks a month we would be able to cover the entire running costs of the project purely though our volunteer program 😱!!

The costs of your 2 week visit include all food and accommodation and as we grow our own food and have our own volunteer house this means that ALL the profits from the trips go towards the project. This means you can fundraise for the costs of the trip with a clear conscience knowing every penny raised goes directly towards supporting our mission.

We are only too happy to arrange additional activities for you while you are with us such as gorilla and chimp tracking, safaris to Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Parks plus many more though this will be at additional cost.

More progress on The Kafunjo Camp this morning - we have also had a few enquiries from supporters who would like to come out and volunteer at the project to assist us in building our vision.

We hope that the camp will become a significant contributor to funding the running of The Kafunjo Community Project once it is complete. This will be done by charging a small contribution for each staying guest which equates to £650 per month with all food, accommodation and airport pick up included - please get in touch for more info - our doors are open!

Wooohooo, my first post on The Kafunjo Overland Safaris Instagram page! I have decided to try and divide our Kafunjo related initiatives into two so from now on all content relating to the the ongoing work at the Kafunjo Community Project will be posted on while our (additional) ambition of building a partner tour company and home stay will be posted here at - hope this makes sense - best to follow both pages I guess! Anyway - please hang on in there if you are struggling out there and remember you have a second home here in Uganda if you want it - just fire us a message and we can arrange short and long term stays at the project whilst also being able to organise mind blowing encounters with mountain gorillas at Bwindi and Mgahinga National Parks

The Kafunjo Community Project began in 2013 when, Bruno Biryomumaisho, the projects director, moved to the village of Kafunjo in South West Uganda, and witnessed extreme poverty and a dire lack of educational opportunities available to the villages poorest children.
