Time to say goodbye to the beautiful Asterias Village resort that’s been our home for the past 10 days ☺️

Talk about location!! 😱
This gorgeous village style resort is built into the hillside with panoramic views of the sea , hills and Hersonissos town below, which by evening lights up after sunset 😍

Yet only 5 min walk to the fabulous and authentic yet buzzing villages of Koutouloufari to one side and Piskopiano to the other with tavernas galore 🍽️🍻🇬🇷

We stayed in a sea view one bedroom apartment with a balcony the size of our bedroom , with views to die for! 🌅
Although the room wasn’t flashy , it was more than comfortable , well equipped for us and a perfect base!
If you would prefer a little more luxury , I also checked out the Superior rooms which were beautiful ❤️

The uber classy pool area that was renovated last year is perfect for day time chilling with its super comfy loungers (unless you are like me and can’t sit still for 5 minutes 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Then by night the mood lighting sets it alive as the focal point of this stunning resort 🤩

We stayed on Half board, which I wouldn’t normally do here due to the many amazing restaurants , although with a free upgrade I wasn’t going to refuse !
The Buffet breakfast was fab with something for everyone … and then , which I didn’t expect… a 5 course al a carte meal to be included each night and the food was amazing!! 😋

(This offer is often available in low season , however even in high the supplement is minimal, plus they allow you to exchange the evening meal for your lunch so you can still eat out without feeling that you are wasting it 😜)

I highly recommend this hotel, for couples or families alike , there is even a small kids club to keep the little ones entertained if you fancy a little down time 🧒

I’ve managed to find some availability for a few dates this year , although it’s minimal (literally one or 2 rooms per date due to the popularity of this resort , also next year is selling fast!

Thought I would take a look around this little stunner today and wow ….
I can fully understand why this hotel sells out so quick!
A gorgeous boutique hotel offering stunning views and private pool suites.
I also chatted with a few of the guests who 100% recommend this place and confirmed its 5/5 trip advisor status!
My biggest surprise was when I’ve done a quick price check for next year … I’m seeing from as little as £750pp!!

Well that’s another fantastic Designer travel Conference completed and once again, we have all been spoilt rotten 🥰

Well what can I say , Iceland 🇮🇸, you have done it again! 🤩

This was my second time hosting a group I had arranged and I have to say , I was a little panicked, as of course I wanted it to be perfect for them and due to so many activities being weather dependent… it could have all gone wrong! HOWEVER … the weather gods were on my side.
Although We didn’t see the northern lights ,
Everything else made up for it!

Thick with Snow , frozen waterfalls , clear blue skies and the most AMAZING sunsets created memories we will all have for a lifetime.

We stayed at the hotel Thingholt which was just perfect . A beautiful boutique hotel in the centre of town , brilliant staff and a fantastic breakfast to set us all up for the day.

I’d arranged a private airport transfer which meant we were straight to the hotel.
We couldn’t check in as we arrived early so this gave us all time to explore Reykjavik.
What a city this is!! Quirky coloured buildings, fab shops , restaurants and bars!
Most offering happy hour so don’t worry about this rumour of paying over a tenner a pint , there are ways to save the pennies!

That evening we attempted to see the northern lights which sadly the cloud cover that came stopped us.
Being on the boat though was a bonus as we had huge snow suits to keep us warm and a bar to serve hot drinks, food and oh yes alcohol 😜

Day 2 was the whale watching boat trip and museum.
Again no guarantees that we would get to see these beautiful creatures but luckily we caught sight of loads! 🐋

Day 3 was supposed to be the Golden circle followed by a Monster truck trip over the glacier and Ice caves. Sadly this was cancelled due to safety , however it turned out for the best as I moved the golden circle trip to later in the day meaning we got to witness the most incredible sunset over the Gullfoss falls which was truly AWE INSPIRING 😱

Day 4 (our final day 😢)
I had arranged our Sky Lagoon experience , perfectly timed to chill out and watch the sunset 🌅 whilst drinking champagne and undergoing the 7 step ritual ,
This consisted of stepping out of the warm lagoon to cold plunge pool 🥶
Then a stunning sunset view sauna , body scrub and steam bath for a true spa experience 🥰

I think we all could have stayed another day or 3 … and were sad to leave, however none of us could believe our eyes when we reached the airport and had full view of the volcano erupting from the our mini bus and then from the Air!!
That’s something we will probably never see again in our lifetime and will remember forever.

I’m sure I will go back to Iceland and will probably host another trip like this , although next year it will be Lapland again to not only continue my mission to see the northern lights 🤦🏻‍♀️🙏
But also to Snow mobile, Husky ride and plenty more ❄️🌨️⛄️🐕
