Moryah Quay. River Tiddy. 1908.
We canoe past this- however the boat and the shed are long gone 😃
Back then the river was a lot wider and deeper due to the barges dragging chains heading downstream on the ebb (outgoing tide).
The river would have been a lot dirtier as well due to primitive sewer systems and mine run off.
Now on the river Tiddy we have king fishers, otters, herons, egrets, diving birds, swans, wading birds, water vole, reptiles and a massive range of insects.
Come on down or up- depending on where you live, to get involved with a canoe tour 😃

All commercial uses for the river Tiddy over 70 years ago. Big barges used to come up the river and it would have looked very different. Now, it’s been reclaimed by nature. Making it safe and passable is the aim but we are preserving the Jungle feel.

Canoe trips down the Tiddy! Today we started work on clearing the river. This was once a commercial water way and actually it’s a common paddling route but it’s been neglected for a couple of decades. We look forward to inviting you on our opening paddle!
