We closed The Waiting Room Pool on on 1st January to take a holiday and used this opportunity to carry out routine maintenance during which, the pool was emptied, deep cleaned, missing tiles were replaced and the whole pool was re-grouted.
It’s taken almost a week for the pool to heat up to temperature, It’s all looking rather smart now, so we’re delighted to confirm that we are open from 9am tomorrow morning (Sunday 26thJanuary)

The Sidings refurbished and ready for 2025

We took a holiday in January and used the opportunity to close our business and make improvements. We put new windows and new fully glazed doors and changed the window dressings to white blinds throughout. We’ve given the property a complete repaint inside and out and also removed all items internally (clutter) that we felt were unneeded giving the property a more clean, clear and spacious feel, we’re very happy with the results. Thank you again Jamie Hennessey for another great job 🙏

A sad day here at the Old Station.
Our magnificent Monkey Puzzle Tree died. Over the past year, I’ve watched the sticky sap running down it’s mighty trunk and its thick wickedly spiky leaves turning brown and dropping off all over the driveway followed by its huge arms of branches letting go and falling away.
With many storms past and a big one on its way tomorrow (Storm Eowyn), it’s a bittersweet moment to see this dying beauty coming down.
Bitter because she was so stunningly beautiful, we loved her ❤️🤩
Sweet because like a big light switch going on, the light that has flooded into our home and driveway has been amazing and the unhindered access to ‘that view’ will now be available as you enter the driveway.
Huge thanks and admiration to the team managing this felling and removal today in driving rain, hailstones and high wind (this is before the big storm arrives tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️)
The tree’s branches are like razor blades so it’s bound to rip or cut something on its final journey to the chipper.
RIP magnificent, beautiful tree, you will be hugely missed 😢

The Waiting Room Pool, The Signal Box and The Sidings will all be closed for the next two weeks whilst we take a break and use this opportunity for improvements and maintenance.

The Waiting Room Pool re-opens on Friday 24th January (dates have been added to the booking calendar on our website www.oldluckettstation.com) and The Signal Box and The Sidings holiday cabins (both listed on and managed by Airbnb) re-open on the Friday 17th January.

We have just published our latest blog to our website as attached and we wanted to take this opportunity to advise our followers that The Waiting Room Pool, The Signal Box and The Sidings will be closing for a short break on January 1st and 2nd respectively.

We will use the downtime for maintenance and improvements at the Old Station, The Sidings and The Waiting Room Pool.

The Signal Box and The Sidings will re-open for business on 17th January and The pool will re-open for business between the 17th and the 20th.

The Waiting Room Pool calendars are now open with all available times and dates for the whole festive period up to and including 1st January 2025.

So if you're planning to book now or over the festive period, you have the opportunity to get in first for your chosen slot times as we plan to advertise our news on wider social media in the coming weeks and as ever, we expect to be very busy.
