New (and great!) exhibition at the Musée d’Orsay. It is exactly 150 years since the first Impressionist Exhibition of 1874. And the Orsay has reunited many of the paintings that were shown there. Monet (who, for the first time, used the term "impression" in the title of the first painting of the 3 that we are sharing), Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Sisley and many others. Venez nombreux !

In 2016, the Louvre and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam bought Rembrandt's Oopjen Coppit and Maerten Soolmans together. They belonged to the Rotschild collection, and they had been together since they were painted for their marriage. The Louvre bought Oopjen and the Dutch, Maerten. But they agreed beforehand that so the couple could stay together, the paintings will spend 5 years in Paris and then 5 years in Amsterdam.
They arrived back in Paris yesterday, so if you are visiting the Louvre, don't miss them!
