Rockpooling at the west rocks, a few minutes walk from the house. We found crabs, tiny fish and a jelly fish. One of our favourite ways to spend the afternoon.

Aberdour Beach has been a firm family favourite for many years. A beautiful quiet stony beach where an afternoon of fun can be had. Stone skimming, rock pooling, hill climbing, rock scrambling and cave exploring. Just a 10 minute drive from the house, definitely not to be missed.

PLACE OF INTEREST
Pennan is a small fishing village with a small harbour and a single row of houses. It is a 14 minute drive from Rosehearty. It was one of the main settings used in the 1980s film Local Hero, starring Burt Lancaster, and still homes the famous Red phone box which featured in the film. Access to the village is down a narrow steep road but it is definitely worth a visit.

The west rocks are a few minutes walk from the house (just at the top of the road). We have always loved exploring, climbing and walking. The rock pools and sea are full of life but the jelly fish find has been one of our favourites.
