What's on your 2024 holiday Wish list?
Mine? All of the highlighted.... as long as cocktails are included.
Just returned from a short visit to Hong Kong and wanted to highlight just how vibrant, safe and welcoming the city is.
Take a look at this short video to see what's on offer to the adventurous traveller amongst us.
Hong Kong can be a bit of a trek, around 13 hours from the UK but well worth the effort. There is a seven hour time difference, so a midday UK flight means a mid morning arrival.
Like most major cities, hotels and restaurants cater for every budget.
We stayed at the five star Harbour Grand, Kowloon, overlooking Victoria Bay. The hotel has magnificent views over the harbour to Hong Kong Island and the distant Victoria Peak and comes highly recommended by NVT.
For those travellers who appreciate their regular haunts, Starbucks, Haagen Dazs, Macdonalds, Marks and Spencers etc are always available within a short walk.
Trains stations are everywhere and make the whole of HKC easily accessible but with Taxis so reasonably priced, we found ourselves jumping a cab everywhere.
So what are at the "must do" in HKC?
In no particular order or preference....
The obligatory on/off "ho ho"bus trip
Take the Venerable Peak Tram up to Victoria Peak for the incredible city panoramic Vista.
The City Double Decker Tram through the Eastern District
Walk and dining in the SOHO district {South Of Hollywood}
The Street Markets
Temple Street Night Market, everything from trinkets, jade & antiques to electronics & watches sold in a bustling night market.
Lantau Island for HK Disney and the Ngong Ping Big Buddha, accessible by the amazing cable Car.
Sail the bay on HKs red-sailed junk boat
The Avenue of the Stars which pays tribute to the mesmerising Victoria Harbour view while providing a warm welcome to the people in Hong Kong and the tourists from all over the world.
Experience traditional Cantonese Dim Sum.
Cross the Pearl River Delta to Macao by ferry for a night in Chinas' Las Vegas.
We chose a six day trip to explore this exciting City. Others migh

What kind of travel personality are you?
Having recently enjoyed two Virgin Voyages and a Princess Cruise we decided to sample the Celebrity Cruises experience to see how they compared.
So, this July, a short flight to Barcelona, a couple of days there to experience this fantastic city before embarking the Celebrity Reflection for a nine night Mediterranean Cruise, seven ports ending in Rome. Please take time to view our accompanying video entitled "Experience it all, in one trip"
Embarkation was stress free and it wasn't long before we were enjoying a welcome cocktail aboard. We had chosen "Aqua Class" as it offered a great cabin with excellent location, allows unlimited access to the Spa and more importantly exclusive free and unreserved dining at the Blu Restaurant.
The Blu restaurant has an excellent varied menu but also an off the menu but always available Steak should you find the options not to your preferences. Wine glasses are never allowed to be empty and the service above exceptional.
There are other restaurants of course, some come at an extra cost and for us, usually a variety is a must but we decided to visit the Blu throughout, loved it, loved the staff.
We purchased the drinks package and enjoyed the unlimited cocktails and cafe coffees. Our checkout invoice totalled 3 Euros so no hidden extras there.
Seats for the nightly shows were always available and the Comedy Club was tops.
Like boarding, disembarkation in Rome was effortless and our arranged transfer to Rome centre was stress free.
Three nights in Rome, at over 40 degrees was sufficient to explore the city, consume endless Gelato and Pasta out.
So which Cruise line tops our personal list.
Virgin Voyages "Adult Only" concept is both unique and imaginative.
Princes Cruises offers an excellent traditional cruise somewhat similar to Celebrity Cruises.
All three gave exceptional service and value.
But our "Blu" experience tipped the scales to put Celebrity Cruises at the head of our preferred list.
It is easy to see why so m
