Cyprus sunsets 🌅

We were upgraded to a sea view room and I’m so pleased we were. Sitting on the balcony with a cocktail watching these sunsets. Beautiful.

As wonderful as all of the staycations have been this year. You can’t beat getting abroad.

Had a lovely day and night away with friends! We stayed in St Anne’s. I’ve never been before.
Great weather, loads to do, delicious food and great company!
The kids stayed up past 10pm and still got up before 7 pm 🙄

I started a travel business nearly one year ago and I’ve loved every opportunity it has brought to me. But the most special thing it has brought to me by far is my friendship with these incredible women.

We’re the greatest of friends, totally unique in our own ways and a big support for one another.

Love what we have and excited for more travelling adventures together!

I do not miss corporate life.

I used to work for a top 50 FTSE company - which had its benefits or at least I thought so at the time.

I used to travel to London 2 or 3 times a week from Leeds. Getting there for 9 am and getting home at 9 pm. I was a mum of 1 at that time and I would feel so grateful for my two other days working from home.
Can’t believe I did that now. And I can’t believe I felt grateful 😂

Had a nice little reminder today of how much I DO NOT miss that life!

I feel an accurate version of “grateful” for everything I have created and my better balance of doing things that I love ALL OF THE TIME!!

However, I did really love my trip down South today as I got to see my bestie and her brand new gorgeous baby ❤️ whilst fitting in my work around it.

This morning has started with a lot of tears.
have named my sister as one of their 25 most influential women of 2021.
The lump in my throat from the pride I feel is painful. When people say “bursting” with pride I feel every sentiment of that because my chest is honestly about to burst open.

Nothing will change in this world without people speaking up and voicing what needs to be changed and why. It’s daunting, it’s scary, not everyone agrees with you BUT things need to be said and things certainly need to change.

Please take inspiration from all 25 of these incredible women. And don’t fade into the background. Women should use their power.

Go Ape at Temple Newsham in the rain.

Had a daughter and son day yesterday. G amazed me with how fearless he was and figuring out how to get across all the platforms (that swung, we’re slippy and incredibly high up) very impressive.

It was terrifying at first but I got into it after a while. Will defo be back !

You know that feeling when the world starts making sense again?

Lockdown number 1 was a pretty shady time for me. Covid anxiety levels were high, the fear of the unknown even higher! A husband who still went to work everyday, me at home with a none sleeping 5 month old and a wild (to his credit) 3 years old ohhhh and to top it off, a redundancy from the only job I’ve ever really known!

F*ck!

I consider myself unbelievably fortunate to be surrounded by astounding women! All of them astounding for different reasons, it would be hard to name all of them. But I have tagged some of my most trusted soundboards, the women I look to for advice in this post but of course no one trumps the ultimate - my mum

Anyway, during this ridiculously hard time, I was forced into a position of deciding what the next steps would be and how they would work for my family.

I did something really crazy (for a person who has only ever worked in the security blanket of a corporate environment) and went self employed!

It felt brave, and a bit stupid as I had no idea what I was doing!
But guess what - I’m bloody good at what I do! I’m passionate about women and I’m passionate about helping women.

I chose to only work for women who help women. And I started working with Lauren Currie OBE] who has a few mission statements but one of them is “we will have served more than 1 million women by 2023”

We do this by offering a 6 week visibility and confidence course. And a membership to the most unbelievable community space! Amongst a lot of other things.

I’m boasting about this because
A) it needs shouting about but;
B) I have now committed all of my working hours to !

I feel lucky, I feel excited but I also feel really bloody proud of myself! It is thanks to the 6 week course that I’m even able to say that out loud!

A big thank you to everyone who supported me! But the biggest thank you to Lauren Currie OBE] for creating such a special thing ❤️

📍Ayreshire
Had the most gorgeous few days away in Ayreshire.

It was peaceful, beautiful, hot, clean and very beautiful!

Both of the kids are swimming so well after our few staycations. Makes such a difference taking them away and creating all of these memories for them.

However, major drama on the way home, when George got sucked under a revolving door at a service station! Took four of us to get the door off his foot! Scary! No broken burns but a very bad burn on his ankle 😢

But all I know is, all of the trips, experiences and holidays are the main things that stick in my memory and the kids memories. Experiences over things.

Today, Wednesday 23rd June, our friends & colleagues from the travel industry will come together throughout the U.K. and be in London to support the “Travel Day of Action”.
Travel agents, tour operators, airlines, and airports united !
Members of the UK travel industry will meet ministers and lobby the government to ask for the safe restart of international travel, to be transparent with their decisions on the traffic light system, and to provide support to the travel industry like they have offered other businesses.
Let's get moving with safe overseas travel. An industry worth £37 billion a year to the UK economy, accounting for nearly 2% of GDP, and supporting over half a million UK jobs.
Airlines and Tour Operators too are all facing immense pressures, with the constant, ongoing and last-minute changes, it’s impossible to plan a proper restart to their operations.
Whilst the Travel Industry stands strong with the government on restrictions to countries where COVID is a problem, our industry needs help. We would like them to follow the data to back these decisions up and at the moment that isn’t the case.
One day our freedom to travel will be back… and we need our industry to be strong! We need it to be what it was pre-COVID and more...
Please, today would you stand together with your Travel Agent, Airline, Tour Operator, and all those who help us to enjoy our holidays abroad.... Pilots, Airport Staff, Airline Staff and more.... Let's all do our bit to make sure that we are all still here when our travel restrictions are safely lifted.

It was really amazing to get away for a week. My kids were excited to see all of their toys again. But have already asked about the “holiday house” several times.

It’s not that relaxing going on holiday with the kids. Suddenly made me realise that all holidays are mainly about them and creating experiences for them. But of course, watching them try and experience new things really does make your holiday.
Just a shame the fussy eater wouldn’t try anything other than chips and pizza 😂

Looking forward to making even more memories this weekend with some friends in caravan!!

Gorgeous, beautiful Cornwall
How we have loved it! It has felt like an abroad holiday! So lucky with the weather, the turquoise seas, the different beaches in walking distance - felt very lucky to get away this week!

We really wanted to be away as 1. I run a travel business haven’t really been able to put it to good use yet!!
2. It was my husbands 40th this week 🙌🏽🙌🏽
3. Our first family holiday as a four!

Really has affirmed the importance of getting away from usual routine life. See new places. Experience new things. And hear your children say “wow, this is amazing”

When you get together with friends, picnic in beautiful settings, let the kiddies run for hours and hours, the sun is so bright you have burnt soldiers and you feel grateful to live in England 🥰

What an incredible place! Certainly investing in National Trust Membership now. Free entry and an amazing place to spend a whole day. Lots of little places to explore, great kiddies play park and a lot of running space. Restaurant and garden centre on site too.
