Oh yes "Cornwall the best place in the world to paddleboard?"

This was meant to be an admin day, but when you get a last minute message and the forecast improves, what are you going to do?

Great company, really clear waters, ocean blues, seals, cliffs and a cave fest. Pretty lucky to call this my local paddle.

We specialise in taking novice to experienced paddlers to special places around the coast and waterways. Its a demand led programme if you book on with notice, otherwise you may get lucky.

SUP Club before half term

A tough upwind paddle, which we only made because of the incentive of a drink and Cheesey Chips at the Pandora Inn.

There's an Improve your paddle boarding in 3 weeks course starting this Thursday.

It acts as an induction and membership to join our social paddles.

Epic North Coast in a Spring Low tide

A privilege to enjoy these spectacular conditions. No pictures of the rougher sections. This is exceptionally calm for the North Coast. A quiet stretch with few outs, only suitable for experienced knowledgeable paddlers.

All on different boards it was interesting to see how they performed.

Big tides mean amazing views under the water, they also mean that tidal flow can be strong.

Golden hour, when the cliffs glow. This was Tuesday when the conditions were calmer than expected.

Caves, swooshing through rocks, awesome views. A little swim for everyone on the landing, some more graceful than others.

When a grey day delivers...

One of my mantras is you never regret getting on the water and this one highlights this more than most.

A little bit windy, dull, a touch cold and with the risk of rain hanging over us. And yet the clear waters, 2 seals, caves and clear almost effervescent waters made for a spectacular evening.

Bobble hats and Board shorts

A guided paddle on the Lizard with far reaching views across Falmouth Bay and the Roseland.

We made it a half day as the offshore winds looked unforgiving in places.

A bit of litter picking on the way back, with usual suspects lobster pot buoy, drinks bottles and polystyrene. I was please that my knife that I keep in my buoyancy aid made mincemeat of this fishing rope

Particularly warm and gooey to clear up when you are rewarded with a grey seal sighting.

Saturday Afternoon a choppy chop fest
When the wind is always against you.

Less pics of the afternoon than the morning, on account of the amount of concentration and effort needed to balance.

The wind forecast was 180 degrees out which is never ideal. Having checked the actual weather its still makes little sense, given that there were no squalls.

The views, beach stop, cave, seal, swooshing through the rocks and good banter made it a fab and memorable afternoon.

Sunny Saturday with blue sky thrown in!!
A stunning morning launching from Portmellon, passing Mevagissey and enjoying views near and far.

The wind forecast as completely out which made for challenging conditions, but with a bit of perseverance even the complete beginners in the group got the hang of standing.

Seal spotting, views below the sea and hot choc with a view, a perfect morning.

Celebrating 20 Years of the Great Egg Case Hunt

I attended an amazing online event last night celebrating this far reaching citizen science project which aims to increase our understanding of Sharks in order to protect them, preserve their habitats and ensure the natural balance in our seas.

440,000 egg cases have been identified and recorded.

They may not be chocolate, but it's really good fun to hunt for them.

If you paddle or walk on our coast or estuaries keep an eye out for Mermaid's Purses and you can download this app for ease of ID and submitting records.

Well it didn't rain All morning and only one person fell in and a bonus that it wasn't me!!

A little bit of litter picking of pasty on a beach, weaving through the rock gardens, far reaching views and sadly we found a dead adult seal which we reported to the marine strandings hotline.

A paddle boarding encounter with a super pod of Common Dolphins on the River Helford. Capturing the fifth group of a super pod, circling around us and even underneath the boards.

Hear the dolphins breathe, watch as the power of them creates a bow wave and then there's a turn of pace as they move as one to leave the River. Spot the calf just 80 cm long.

This was the first paddle of 2023 in stunning conditions.
