Anyone who sees a turtle is being urged to call British Divers Marine Life Rescue immediately for support, take photographs so the species can be identified, and place the turtle in a dry towel to help maintain its temperature.

RARE KILLER WHALE SPOTTED OFF BRIDLINGTON COASTLINE

In an exceptionally rare occurrence, an Orca, also known as a Killer Whale, was spotted off the coast of Bridlington near RSPB Bempton at 14:55 this afternoon (Monday 11th September 2023).

The majestic marine mammal, with its towering dorsal fin, made a stunning appearance just 2-3 miles offshore, captivating three lucky witnesses who were in the grandstand viewing platform at RSPB Bempton Cliffs.

The Orca gracefully swam southward, No further sightings have been reported since.

Despite their name, Killer whales, are not typically considered a danger to the public. In fact, there have been very few documented cases of wild killer whales harming humans in the wild. They are known for their intelligence and complex social behaviors. They are also curious creatures and may approach boats or swimmers out of curiosity, but their interactions with humans are generally peaceful.

Woldies Lavender & Nature Farm is a wonderful day out. It is a great way to explore nature with all the family.

With the lavender in full bloom, this years butterfly count is underway so do pop along and partake. .
