Jingle shell

I know! Who wouldn't want a bowl of jingle shells on their bedside table, just to remind you as you wake to greet a new day that being alive is lovely.

At last, a still, warm evening and some spectacular moths to marvel at in the morning!
Elephant Hawk Moth and Eyed Hawk Moth.

It is amazing to see the creatures which inhabit the night garden. Really feel like summer is here now.

Is there a thing that is the opposite of colour blindness, where you just seen everything more vividly. Colour seeingness maybe?

Today has been the polar opposite of yesterday. Vibrant, vital and very very lovely.

Our neighbouring farmer takes a hay crop off this field each year..and I love him.
Don't know how he did it but this field is always awash with fabulous meadow flowers which brings flocks of linnets. No photos of the linnets but oh my goodness, what a treat!

The garden is looking gloriously messy.

Dunnocks nesting in the brambles.
Solitary bees overflowing the bee hotel (note to self..more bee hotels needed)
Every house sparrow nestbox bursting with chicks, adults everywhere encouraging them to fledge so they can fit in another brood or two.
And flowers and bees and molehills and rabbits, mullein sprouting up where it feels like it and starlings and great spotted woodpecker, wrens and damselflies, whirligig beetles, newts in the pond....

Every moment there's something to watch and enjoy.

It's all happening here, and I love it.
Since letting go of gardening for me and the slugs and embracing gardening for wildlife it's all cups of tea with my feet up being entertained by the glorious display.

Wish I'd done it years ago 🤭

Sea potato

Not a potato!
It's an Echinocardium cordatum and it lives in a burrow in soft sand. So it should really be called ??? All suggestions merrily accepted 🤭

Cuckoo spit... not spit and not spat by cuckoos.

It's actually the protective home secreted by the nymphs of a sap-sucking true bug known as froghoppers (and they aren't frogs either!)
