No 1, The Shepherd’s Hut and No 2, The Gamekeeper’s Wagon are completely off-grid, and we are incredibly proud of their simple, eco-friendly compost loos and safari showers! It’s all part of the re-wilding experience and, in our (completely unbiased!) opinion, two of the poshest outdoor compost loos we’ve ever seen! Lovingly hand made for us by a very special uncle (he’s particularly proud of the soft-close seat), and furnished with a few little luxuries, they really are everything you need when nature calls!

Its really quite miraculous the impact that just a little bit of sunshine and blue sky can have on one's mood. Unfortunately we can't guarantee there'll be any... This is England and we all know better. But we will guarantee that the combination of fresh air and our No.1 dinky little Shepherd's Hut will put a smile on your dial on even the gloomiest days.

Its been a wild and slightly nerve-racking few days on the weather front... We half expected to see the living wagons, airborne over the Wolds, Wizard of Oz style. But they're still here, clinging to the side of their hill, sheltered by the woods behind them. Miraculously no bits missing or broken, unlike our shattered nerves, and the odd tree branch.

The shepherds hut is small but cosy, even when the weather isn't too sparkly. Night briquettes keep the fire glowing overnight, and if you don't have a willing volunteer who'll let you warm your feet up on them, there are hot water bottles as well.
