Escape this Christmas to the Seychelles

Waldorf Astoria Platte Island

Once frequented only by turtles, this tiny island has been transformed into an indulgent Robinson Crusoe escape

Walk along the beach in the morning and the only footsteps to walk in are the tracks of crabs and turtles.

130km south of Mahé, this remote coral island is surrounded by its own lagoon, with nothing in sight but sparkling ocean and azure skies.

Built to tight conservation restrictions, Waldorf Astoria’s Platte Island resort strives to protect its surrounding island foliage and wildlife.

Santorini is a very special Island and one I keep returning to.

The views are mesmerising and the quality and choice of hotels outstanding.

This past week I have visited 5 hotels and every single one has been incredibly special, ranging from atmospheric with unique cave rooms, to modern and spacious, resort-style hotels, but they all had one thing in common: location, location, location.

I have hiked the Caldera, sailed on a Catamaran, eaten at the most beautiful restaurants, experienced a wine tasting, explored Santorini’s own Pompei - Akrotiri, and enjoyed a day at a beach club.

There is so much to see and do, I cannot recommend this island highly enough
