Happy Christmas 🎄 from Bass Point Cottage!

⭐️⭐️ What a wonderful night!

⭐️ A massive Thank You to everyone who ventured out last night in all that wind!

⭐️ Our Lights are switched on and looking beautiful!

⭐️ They will be on daily from 4.30pm - 11.30pm until the 4th January.

⭐️ Someone is watching the lights carefully and we have somebody on standby by to fix them. So if you notice some not working - please rest assured we will be on it.

⭐️ Here we go with some Thank yous! There are quite a few, please forgive me if I miss you, and know that all your help and support has been greatfully received 🙏

⭐️ Big thank you to Cadgwith Pilot Gig Club - for allowing us to use the club and bar.

⭐️ Thank you to Tonks for allowing us to use the crab shop and to Debbie, Steveyn, Paul and team for their wonderful service and yummy Mulled wine!

⭐️ Thank you to Georgia Lewis for her beautiful set last night 🎶- just perfect. To Mike for the PA system. To Ann’s Pasties for the delicious pasties! To everyone who donated raffle prizes and delicious cakes! To T***s for organising the Raffle.

⭐️ To the Cadgwith singers for their lovely Carol singing and to the children of Grade Ruan School for coming along with their gorgeous lanterns and beautiful singing voices. To Santa and his elf for taking time out to visit us last night. To Lesley for her special gifts. To Sarah Richards and Tregaminion Farm for the perfect Christmas Trees 🎄

⭐️ Thank you to Mr Phillip Burgess for coming along and switching the lights on and for his lovely words. Very fitting, as a retired Coxwain of the Lizard - Cadgwith Lifeboat. With the RNLI celebrating 200 years of service and the winning light design (by Lily Moore) being of a lifeboat.

⭐️ To everyone who sponsored a new light this year 🙏 and to the Grade Ruan Community Trust for their grant towards the work we do.

⭐️ To Andy and his team from Culdrose for braving the first storm and getting the lights put up! To our muscle team for providing help. To Matt the electrician for his above and beyond service. To the Mudfords for their use of their trailer and advice.

⭐️ To Chris Nixon and Lucy, T***s and Team for organising the Lantern making workshops. To Cyd for organising the build of the new lights with Dan and for all her fundraising skills and photos! To Bill for the poster design and to Rozen Furniture for post donations.

⭐️ To our wonderful committee: Nicky, Sam, Doug, Gayle, Andy, Hannah, Alison, Cyd, Elizabeth, Lesley, Sarita, T***s, Wenna, Peter, Lucy, Paul, Matt and Laura. To all those that show up and help out: Len, Tamlyn, Alasdair, Tessa, Ruth, Clair, Gerard, Jason, Toby, Arf and so many more. To all those that help with our Summer fund raising BBQs. As I said apologies if I have missed anyone but please know your support is greatly appreciated.

⭐️ And if you’ve carried on reading to here well done 😂

⭐️ As I’ve said before it takes a village to keep the lights going - so thank you 🙏 Cadgwith has a wonderful community and we want to keep the lights going - so please do come along and join us. Help would be gratefully received on Sunday 5th January 10am down the cove to get the lights taken down and put away. It’s a massive task but the more help we have the quicker we can get it done.

⭐️ Finally we hope you enjoy the wonderful display this year and the Light up Cadgwith Team would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year ###

Ps. Thank you to the Robin yesterday - who assured me everything would be ok 🪽

Impressive Views - the photos don’t really do it justice

This is a journey worth making. Heading down to England’s most southerly point you begin to sense the sea on all sides around you and even more so when you take the lane to Bass Point Cottage. Breathtaking views of the sea appear as you drive along the edge of the cliffs making this a very special holiday house. And then you arrive! This Cornish cottage has just been refurbished with a lot of input and love from the owners who have known the cottage since their childhood holidays and now want to share their experiences. From the cottage you can walk easily to The Lizard Village and amazing beaches at Kynance, Housel Bay and Pentreath. Situated on the coastal path, you can watch the sea in all its moods and on a clear night the moon and stars make a wonderful backdrop. This truly is an idyllic location based in an area of outstanding natural beauty and surrounded by a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The cottage will suit walkers, bird watchers and nature lovers – or those who wish to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of being next to the sea.
