Old Post Cottage is a cosy and comfortable Victorian cottage in the coastal village of St Ishmaels. St Ishmaels is a great base for exploring the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire.
The cottage sleeps 4 (one double, one twin) with an open fire and a log burner. It has modern amenities such as central heating, dishwasher and washer/dryer but has plenty of original features including exposed stone walls in the dining room and kitchen. The bathroom has a bath, shower and WC.
There is an enclosed yard directly outside the back door which we have made as dog-proof as possible, and another sitting-out area up a short flight of steps. We are happy to accommodate 2 medium sized dogs.
Old Post Cottage is less than a mile from the coastal path and you can walk to Monk's Haven, a tiny bay just outside the village. There are more than 10 beaches within a short drive, including Broad Haven (great for kids) and Newgale which is renowned for its watersport facilities and its huge stretch of golden sand. Nearby Nolton Haven is quieter and the local stables offer private countryside rides and beach trekking.
If you're a history lover, the tiny cathedral city of St Davids is 20 miles away, and the historic town of Tenby is 25 miles away.
The internal stairs are a little steep and narrow, as is usual in Victorian cottages. The narrow doorways mean it is unsuitable for wheelchair users.
