Merry Christmas everyone!🎄🎅

We will be raising a glass later to our lovely guests who chose to make special memories at Dilly’s this year, the housekeepers who have kept our cottage sparkling clean ✨ our lovely kind neighbours who we can call friends 🥰 and those who have supported us. Each ‘word of mouth’ recommend and like and share in this digital world is so much appreciated ❤️

Would you like to join us for a reactive dog walk on Sunday morning?

We'll start at 9 am from a location we'll share with you via email on Saturday afternoon.

There's ample space, beautiful views, and opportunities to make new doggy friends along the way!

It's important that your dog has good training and control to attend, as we want to avoid stress or injury to any dogs or people during the walk.

We expect some reactions, but don’t make it stressful for your dog, if they aren’t ready for it, yet.

We’re running these right through the winter for dogs of all sizes and breeds 🐶

Although we don’t allow parties of any kind, we do love to see our guests spend their special birthdays and anniversaries in our beloved cottage. Our kitchen is a great size to add a few balloons 🎈and there’s lovely pubs and restaurants nearby to celebrate with a special meal 🥂 🎉
Low-key birthdays are the best in the Peaks 🥳

Catch it while you can! 💜 Who wants to explore the Peak District during heather season? 🙋✨

Each year, for around three weeks, the moorlands are brought to life with vibrant purple heather stretching as far as the eye can see - a photographer's paradise! 📸

If you're planning a visit, remember to stay by:
❌ Saying no to BBQs and open fires
🗑️ Taking your litter home with you
🐶 Keeping dogs on a short lead
🚗 Parking only in designated areas
👣 Sticking to public rights of way where possible

Well week is under way - the bunting is out, bands have been playing and the well dressing completed. Blown away by this one. To think of all the hard work that’s gone in to it with all those flower petals 🌸

We know we shouldn’t have favourite inns but….very difficult not to when the service, food and ales are consistently on point 👌💫

Thursday is Steak night here at our cracking little pub.we even have you covered if your vegetarian.

Happy International Nurses’ Day!

Here is our Aunty Dilly who we named our beloved cottage after 💕 She spent her whole working life dedicated to looking after patients.

Along with her identical twin sister, she trained at hospitals in Liverpool and Edinburgh. She worked every Christmas Day during her career.

Aunty Dilly, who was a sister on a surgical ward at Ealing Hospital during the latter part of her career, used to say it was so important be a nurse ‘by the bedside’. She was so passionate about looking after her patients.

After she retired, Aunty Dilly was awarded an MBE for her services to nursing by Queen Elizabeth II in 1993. To our family she was like a nan to us and incredibly inspiring.

Thank you to Aunty Dilly and to all the nurses for their hard work and selfless dedication.

Dilly Cottage is set for Coronation weekend 👑 🇬🇧 🥂

Admittedly, we aren’t mega royalists….but we wanted to mark this historical occasion not only for our guests, but in memory of our Aunty Dilly who would’ve loved to have watched it on the telly tomorrow 💕
