Some lovely feedback from one of my January bookings. This customer was visiting family in Australia so just needed flights and a stopover on the way there and back. I was able to package their flights with several nights in a Singapore, a city my customers had never been to.
Singapore is an excellent place to break up a long flight due to its myriad of attractions and cultural sites. It's a city where you can easily fill up a week, so a few days can offer a wonderful taste of its unique charm. From the stunning Gardens by the Bay to the bustling streets of Chinatown, there's truly something for everyone.

What a week! January is a whirlwind month for those of us in the travel industry. Known as "Peaks," it marks the busiest time of the year for holiday bookings.
Ensuring I secure the best price and availability for my customers often means working late into the evening, which has been most evenings this week, as well as over the weekends. This is just another way that I go beyond for my clients, I don't just leave the office or close my laptop. But after an intense week, I'm planning to take a well deserved evening off. However, this is just a brief respite, as I'll be back at my desk first thing in the morning as I have a lots of lovely enquiries to research and bookings to put finalize.

A bit delayed, but I would like to just wish you all Happy New Year! May 2025 bring you health and happiness, oh and of course filled with lots of travel!!
A little recap on 2024, which was filled with unforgettable moments for me and my customers. I visited some amazing places and having lots of milestone family birthdays, including my own 50th, meant some of these were real bucket list trips:
• Skiing in Les Gets, France with friends
• Celebrating my 50th with island hopping in St Vincent & the Grenadines
• A family 90th birthday celebration in the Norfolk Broads
• My first Disney experience after being invited to join the Disneyland Paris UK Summer 2024 Trade Event
• An epic trip to Canada along with an Alaskan cruise with family for a 60th birthday!
• Back to Canada by invitation of Destination Canada and Quebec Tourism board to explore this area with other agents
• Exploring and relaxing in Malta for a week
• Annual narrowboat weekend
• A girls short break to Fuerteventura
I have a couple of things lined up for 2025 but we still need to decide on where we are going to holiday, and the sooner the better as even travel agents like to take advantage of the best availability and prices that forward planning can bring!

Now recovered from a full on Travel Counsellors conference, as a self employed business owner, I'm able to again reflect and appreciate this amazing experience and opportunity of being part of this award winning company.
To be able to speak to 100s of top suppliers and come away with contacts that will help me create amazing holidays is invaluable.
Hearing from the most inspiring and motivating speakers, including Jo Malone CBE , Bruce P**n Tip (G Adventures) and TC favourite Sara Davies MBE who I'm so excited to hear will be working with Travel Counsellors over the next year to share her knowledge and advice for growing our small businesses.
And of course, it's not all business but a time to catch up with friends and let our hair down! Again Vernon Kay hosted the nightly entertainment, starting with an Apres Ski themed evening on the Friday and the Ibiza Orchestra getting us all dancing. Saturday night was the opportunity to get dressed up for Gala Dinner and Awards (thank you to our table hosts Cruises). The main act is always very anticipated and Nile Rodgers Productions with Chic was truly incredible!
As always, I've come away inspired with lots of new ideas for my customers and business.

This weekend I will be attending the 2024 Travel Counsellors Conference - a highlight of the year as it's an opportunity to come together with my fellow TCs and colleagues to celebrate our achievements and an incredible 30 years of Travel Counsellors in business!!
I will also be meeting with our supplier partners to find out about their products and services so that I can create even better holidays and adventures for my customers.
The agenda will include some amazing motivational speakers, most yet to be announced. Whilst we know will be joining us we are yet to hear who else will be performing on stage on Friday and Saturday night......

Today I'm celebrating a bit of milestone having run my own business for 5 years as a personal travel consultant and holiday planner with Travel Counsellors .
Time has just flown by. I have enjoyed being able to send my customers all around the world, making lifelong friends within my Travel Counsellor community, building some great relationships with suppliers and of course having so many memorable travel experiences.

Since my first trip abroad in my teens to Sweden, I have been fortunate to have visited over 40 countries around the world - my favourites being Iceland, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cuba, Sicily. My trips have been varied - from city breaks to long tours, relaxing beach holidays to skiing snowy mountains, luxury hotels to hostels – so I have a wealth of travel experiences to delve into.
