Renovation highlights from our long awaited Norfolk family home Meadow View.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE SO FAR? It may be a while before we have any more 🤣….

1. The recently painted snug had an overhaul in August during a heatwave (I’ll never forget it) in a selection of paint colours
2. My son got lucky with his room being redecorated before we moved in - love this wallpaper which we hope is future proofed!
3. The children’s bedroom had a very quick paint job and floor sand by yours truly again - a lovely quick freshen up
4. The dining room - you’ll have heard enough about that of late!
5. My daughter’s room - probably the most challenging room for a lot of reasons - mostly the wonky walls and floor - but a triumph with this wallpaper. We’ve made a few tweaks to this lately I’ll share soon.

Time for a rest (who am I kidding?!)

DINING ROOM STILLS FOR ZOOMING/DETAILS FOR SAVING

Thank you so much for all the love ♥️ for the Meadow View dining room. I’m sharing a few stills for you, together with paint colour and finish info for you to save and refer to. I’ll add it to highlights along with my stories from today in which I’ve talked about why I’ve chosen particular paint finishes. I hope this is useful and, as ever, any questions let me know xx

1. View of the living room from our hallway. The ceiling has been painted in Lady Char’s lilac (architect’s Matt for the ceiling and architects eggshell for the coving to add some subtle contrast)
2. The view from the dining table to the east, window painted in ’s Grenache in architect’s gloss for real drama.
3. View from the dining room through to the the snug, showing the Albion wallpaper in Mauve.
4. The cleaned up original lock (thank you ) against Grenache in eggshell for the skirting and door trims.
5. Decisions to be made about whether we have a mirror or a painting above the fireplace? What do you think?
6. Back to where we started, choosing the colour scheme… i didn’t dream it would turn out as good as this!

A WEEKEND OF pink sunrises, blue skies, warm wine-infused evenings and (lots of lots) of paint samples. Norfolk you are SO beautiful at this time of year.

A busy week incoming: finalising colours for the dining room redecoration, dates for Christmas wreathmaking classes and putting together the Curated by Lois Christmas collection. Always grateful for your support and I promise lots of exciting things coming your way xx

COME ON IN…

… it’s cosy in here. This is perhaps the closest I’ve got to showing you our kitchen - from the outside looking through the window! It does look inviting, though I think may have (fortuitously) just articulated for me in her post just now why I’ve not shared it before….
….And that’s despite it being a perfectly lovely kitchen I’m not sure it will feel right until I’ve put my mark on it, and I feel a little guilty about that because no changes are really necessary, but it doesn’t feel like ours yet.

I’ve had a few ideas recently for some minor updates that won’t break the bank nor seem at all wasteful (and having seen Nina’s recent transformation I’ve been spurred on to put them into action) so maybe “kitchen updates” should be added to the ever growing to do list after “dining room redec” and “master bedroom spruce up”… we will see….

12 APRIL! This photograph of the garden was taken on 12 April last year. One year on to the day and (all being well) it will be welcoming our first guests of 2021 (who, coincidentally, were our first guests of 2020 and had such a great time they booked two more holidays with us)!

HAS ANYONE ELSE GOT similar jumanji-like scenes in their garden? Everything is so green from all this rain we returned from holiday and could barely get in the door! I gave up waiting for the sun yesterday and decided to adopt the “just get it done quickly before the heavens open” technique to pruning a wisteria and Virginia creeper*. I’ll keep you posted on whether I’ll end up regretting that! Here’s hoping for an opportunity for a more romanticised version of gardening today, before the footie frenzy this evening! FASHION CONTENT has been thin on the ground of late for the simple reason that all resources diverted to house renovation, but I couldn’t resist this very on brand £28 shirt which goes perfectly with last year’s @ma_lin_online co-ord from @percy.langley. And I may have also got lucky with these shoes which I’d been coveting for a while and then went into the sale @jarroldnorwich (not to be worn marsh walking for obvious reasons!). X What do we think? YOU GAIN SOME, YOU LOSE SOME MORE… Lots of new followers of late and also plenty of departures - usually a sign to do a reintroduction and explain what you’ll likely see here. I know it’s evolved but so has life and whilst the algorithm may want to be trained like a puppy and fed the same old thing I’m allergic to dogs so that was never going to work for me and hopefully you enjoy the variety too.
