Awesome Argyll Charming 2 bedroom holiday cottage in rural location overlooking Loch Awe www.awesomeargyll.co.uk An initial supply of bottled water will be provided.

The area immediately around No 2 is primarily forestry land with almost endless opportunities for walking, off road cycling and fishing, with necessary permits. The property is situated approximately 23 miles from Oban (often and not without good reason, known as the Seafood Capital of Scotland and the Gateway to the Isles) on National Cycle Route 78, The Caledonia Way. Within an hour’s drive of N

o 2, there are many historical and scenic places to visit e.g. Kilmartin Glen, Crinan Canal, Tayvallich and other coastal villages popular with the sailing community. For those partial to Uisge Beatha (water of life) there are also a number of distilleries within easy reach or a short ferry trip from Oban. No 2 has recently undergone some renovations, including a newly refurbished bathroom and will offer comfortable, centrally heated, accommodation for up to 4 people:

• Sitting room, overlooking Loch Awe with wood burning stove and dining area
• Double bedroom overlooking Loch Awe
• King/twin bedroom (can be made up as required – please confirm configuration at least one week before arrival)
• Fitted kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer
• Newly refurbished bathroom with electric shower
• Wi-fi
• Large garden with patio/seating area. The garden is not fully enclosed so small children need to be closely supervised. A small BBQ is available.
• No smoking
• No pets
• Please Note that as No 2 is served by a private water supply so bottled water for drinking is strongly advised. The water system is maintained and tested regularly.

Really interesting tour of St Conan’s Kirk, yesterday. Located on Loch Awe, not far from the iconic Kilchurn Castle, the church was built between 1881 and the 1920s and is an eclectic mix of very different architectural styles. It is owned and run by a trust comprised of local people and many of the tradesmen involved in the build were also local. Within the church, as well as tombs of Campbell family members, there is a memorial to King Robert the Bruce.

Lots of picnic spots around Oban!

Happy ! 🧺 Here are some of our top picnic spots in and around Oban:

1️⃣ McCaig's Tower: Take a break from the town's hustle and bustle and soak in the serene panoramic views. It's worth the climb, we promise.
2️⃣ Langamull Beach: Hop on the ferry to the Isle of Mull to explore this gem not far from Calgary Bay. Boasting rock pools and fine white sand, take in the breathtaking vistas of Ardnamurchan, Rum, Eigg, and Cann while enjoying a relaxing picnic by the sea.
3️⃣ Gylen Castle: Just a short ferry ride away from Oban lies this haven for walkers and cyclists. Attack the circular route around the island and refuel at the moody ruins of Gylen Castle

Fill up that bag with your favourite nibbles and take note for your next trip!

Looking for a spring break in Scotland? A lovely guest had this to say, about our Argyll holiday cottage, following their January stay:

www.AwesomeArgyll.co.uk

We've just had from the most relaxing weekend getaway at No.2 Awesome Argyll. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful in organising. The cottage is a welcoming retreat set in beautiful countryside. It is furnished to a very high standard & is spotlessly clean throughout. It has clearly been lovingly decorated with luxurious and homely furnishings and local art plus lots of extra special touches. We loved relaxing by the wood burning stove, so cosy. Both bedrooms are beautifully decorated. We slept in the loch facing bedroom and had the best sleep as the bed was exceptionally comfortable! The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials we could need and more and the bathroom is very stylish and modern. The cottage is in a very peaceful location and the scenery around Loch Awe is stunning. At night the air was so clear that we were star gazing, awesome! We will definitely be going back and would love to see the changing seasons and make the most of the lovely garden and barbecue. We can highly recommend No.2 as an ideal base to relax and to explore Argyll.
