Very exciting news this morning!!
Virgin Voyages are making a return to the UK with a series of sailings from Portsmouth.

The adults-only line made its debut from the port with first ship Scarlet Lady instead of Miami in summer 2021 following cruise industry disruption caused by the pandemic.

A number of new sailings have now been confirmed, including debut calls to Bilbao and Bordeaux, with dates so far unspecified.

The itineraries feature short breaks to Amsterdam and Zeebrugge for Bruges and a longer cruise between Portsmouth and Barcelona via La Coruna, Lisbon, Casablanca, Malaga and Ibiza.

Virgin Voyages vice president of UK/international sales, Shane Riley, said: “The rumours are true, we’re returning to our British roots, and we couldn’t be more excited.

“Portsmouth was where we set sail on our maiden voyage and introduced what it means to set sail the Virgin way, so it has a very special place in our hearts.

“The best part is these series of ‘Portsmouth Shorts’ itineraries are just a fraction of the news we have to share.

“All I can say is stay tuned for epic news – we’ve got more sailing your way next week, and the new itineraries will be available to book starting Sept. 7.”

As most of you know I went on the most amazing Virgin Voyage. We cruised the Adriatic coast onboard The Resilient Lady. Our first port of call was the stunning city of Split, Croatia. I loved my time there so much I would love to go back to see more of this wonderful city. So after a bit of research I came up with this itinerary that I want to inspire and share with you.

Two-Days in Split, Croatia.

Split is Croatia’s second-largest city has plenty of things to do…During this two-day itinerary, you can see many of the top attractions in Split itself and even tick off a bucket list adventure!

Day One

📍Diocletian’s Palace
Diocletian’s Palace is the most famous cultural and tourist attraction of Split, Croatia. Although called a palace, it is more like a big fortress. today forms about half the Old Town of Split.

📍Walking tour of the complex
There are no free walking tours sadly, but this will be worth every penny. The tour will lead you to parts of the palace that you would not find by yourself. The place is a maze.

📍Old Town
People’s Square (Narodni Trg) is the heart of the Old Town. Cafes and restaurants spill out into the square and one of the highlights of a visit here is gazing up at the old town clock.

📍 Saint Domnius Cathedral
Consecrated as a cathedral at the turn of the 7th century AD, it is considered to be the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world that remains in use. If you’re feeling brave, you can climb the 200 steps to the top of the bell tower and see some amazing views of Split in every direction.

📍Marjan Hill
It’s another climb, 314 steps to be precise. You will be thankful for the comfy shoes you decided to wear. Once at the top, take in the views of Old Town.

📍Riva Promenade
Located along the seafront in the heart of Split, the promenade is lined with tall palm trees, bustling cafés, and shaded benches.

Day Two

📍Krka National Park
You are going on a day trip to Krka National Park. Worth visiting solely to admire the power and beauty of Skradinski buk, the park’s most famous network of waterfalls. But the park also boasts six other waterfalls on the Krka River. Don’t forget your swimwear.
