🚙 We've been roadtripping for a few days in our home on wheels, exploring a little of ‘Up North’ which was very windy, very beautiful and lots of fun.

Anyhow, staying in our cosy, comfortable, little camper got me thinking about holiday accommodation and what it is that makes a wonderful holiday.

For us, we like to explore and seek out places to visit, supporting local businesses, particularly the cafes and restaurants and in the evening we play board games, watch TV and chat. We spend quality time together ❤️, whether it's just us or we're with family and friends.

Simple things really, sprinkled with a few magical moments. Here are a few from our few days...

✨️ Angel Of The North
✨️ St. James' Park tour for the boys, which was very cool and interesting
✨️ Edinburgh Castle and Portebello Beach
✨️ The Kelpies and Helix Park which was extra special lit up in the evening

We could be anywhere in the world (a phrase you'll often hear us say in our van), staying in any holiday home and we'd create our own fun, adventures and memories.

🏋‍♂️ So we know for some, getting to the gym regularly is a must, even on holiday.

🏋‍♀️ We don't have a gym, but we know where the local ones are.

If you're a JD Gyms plus member, a PureGym plus member or an Everlast champion member, then we have a few gyms to choose from in Fenton, Newcastle under Lyme and Tunstall, all within a 20 minute drive.

If you prefer a pay-as-you-go, then you can visit the local Wallace Sport And Education Centre, £5.50 for a day pass which includes gym, sauna and classes.

Did you know? There are more miles of canals within the Staffordshire boundaries than any other county in England.

At the centre of this county revolution was the pottery industry, for which this system of transport brought huge benefits.

Josiah Wedgwood who commissioned local engineer James Brindley to create the Trent and Mersey Canal which enabled kaolin (china clay) to be brought from Cornwall right to his factory in Etruria. The finished products could be taken away smoothly, with the minimum of breakages

Spring Cottage is closer to the Caldon canal where you can meander the towpaths on foot or by bike to discover Leek or Stoke on Trent.

Today we took a little meander along the canal from Stoke, and spotted the beautiful Bluebell and Stowaway by Bike & Boat
