The Mytton and Mermaid is back!
The historic hotel and restaurant in Atcham has been bought by Brunning and Price, and has been closed for major refurbishment for the past year.
The new owners also have the The Armoury in Shrewsbury and The Woodbridge in Ironbridge.
We're looking forward to seeing what they've done with the grade II listed building, when it opens on June 1st.

According to Historic England, The hotel was known as The Talbot Arms until the early C19 when it became The Berwick Arms. The building became a private home in the mid- to late C19 and was known as Atcham House, but in the early 1930s it was bought from the Attingham Estate by Sir Clough William-Ellis, who turned it back into a hotel and gave it its present name. Famous people who have stayed in the hotel include Augustus John.

A stunning lodge! Stayed here for a hen weekend and everyone was thrilled. The Lodge was spotless and we had a delicious sponge cake waiting for us on arrival. Once we figured out how to heat the hottub it was heaven, the surroundings are stunning, so peaceful. The beds were so comfortable! we had lots of fun playing the games that were there, plenty for us to do, didn't have to leave all weekend. Would highly recommend Westwood Lodge!

"It was our third stay here. The accommodation is beautiful, really a home from home. A comfy bed, nice fluffy white towels and lovely and warm. Much Wenlock is an ideal place to stay to get the best from Shropshire, with good walking and history on the doorstep. Also the shops in the town provide all you could need, a great butcher, baker and a little market with lovely fresh veg. There is a great Chinese takeaway too along with good Shropshire pubs.
