And with a cold snap, Christmas is over and so onto the task of taking down the decorations. One of our Saundersfoot traditions is painting a Christmas ornament .pottery and we have something from most years including of course the Christmas unicorn! I love getting these out each year and putting them on the tree and around - they are surviving well except poor penguin! My idea is the children will take away a box of decorations once they have their own tree etc. This year is no exception and we were joined by where we both were excited to paint a Christmas Tree candle holder - but who did it best?? There are so many things to choose from that pottery painting makes a great activity when in Saundersfoot at any time of the year!

New year, new path 🥾Easily ticked off two New Year’s resolutions today - an hours exercise and half an hour in nature by exploring the new multiuse path from Saundersfoot to the station and beyond. Going just before dusk meant some beautiful skies and lovely wintery views - all just from the top of the road.

Had the most amazing morning - such a unique outdoor spa with wooden hot tub, warming baths with a fabulous view after the cold water shower and a relaxing treatment all included. The afternoon tea and hot chocolates were delicious and we can’t wait to visit again ☺️ just 45 mins from Edith and Bert and a perfect way to treat yourself and unwind

We spent a wonderful afternoon yesterday The Stone Crab celebrating the fabulous Sara Hicks without whom we wouldn’t have visited Saundersfoot for lovely family holidays 10 years ago and then now be able to run Bert’s Bungalow throughout the year - she has always been such a constant and reassuring presence in my life, like a big sister to me and now is the go to for advice and all things holiday let related ☺️ We couldn’t do it without you - thank you 😘

What a wonderful review of a ‘Pawsitively perfect stay’ from some recent special guests:
Woof! Echo the dog here. I am a young, athletic, fun-loving Border Collie and I have just returned from the best family hollybobs ever at barks/Bert's Bungalow! From the moment we arrived, we could tell it was going to be a great time. I was accompanied by my two humans and younger sister (who is a greedy labrador). The space was super cozy and host Fran had left special blankets, towels and even treats just for us! My humans said it was clean and welcoming, and they even got left some treats of tea and coffee facilities and stroop waffles. I wasn't allowed to try them but they smelt delicious. There is spacious and secure garden where we could run and play. There were some cheeky squirrels but we kept the garden safe on our patrol. The location was pawsitively perfect. We could easily walk down into the village to the beach or to visit one if the many dog friendly cafes and pubs. There were plenty of wonderful walks nearby, our humans even tried to tire us out by running all the way to Tenby. We were very muddy and it just went on and on up down up down forever...but we did earn a doggy ice cream at the end. The host was incredibly friendly, offering treats and tips for the best places to explore. It felt like we were truly welcomed. We can’t wait to return. Highly recommend it to all my fellow pups and their humans looking for a fun and relaxing getaway!

A walk around West Angle Bay and Angle Point is a great circular walk that can be shortened if you have little ones or grumpy teenagers / husbands, or walk the whole 3.7 miles to earn cake or ice cream at the fabulous cafe.

A brilliantly put together museum at the Heritage Centre and Schooner - full of fascinating history about the local area and historical industries in Saundersfoot. Definitely worth a visit and can also recommend the bubble tea and waffles from 🧇 🧋

Are you an adventurer, a foodie or a stroller? Great adventures to be had with fab food for the foodies and a late dessert and for the strollers out there it is wonderful to have the path to Wisemans Bridge open again 🥾🌊🏄‍♀️
