Another great day in Norfolk which started with a bang on a local walk along the coast path from Burnham Deepdale - a ringtail Hen Harrier (1 of 6 raptor species), Barn Owl, 4 Spoonbill, 9 Black-Tailed Godwit & Grey Plover were all new for the year and we got to watch two Chinese Water Deer chasing each other around which was only the 2nd time I've seen this feral wetland specialist!

A cracking afternoon walk at Norfolk Wildlife Trust Cley Marshes followed with plenty of close up Marsh Harrier action (including the stonking male in the video) and some quality waders including another Grey Plover, 18 Avocet and my first Ruff of the year 😊

A couple of days break in North Norfolk and what a top first day on this wonderful stretch of coast!

Three Shore Lark, a lifer in the shape of a beast of a Glaucous Gull munching on a dead seal and an incredible 19 Red Kite combing the beach at Old Hunstanton. Bearded Tit, Avocet and heaps of gorgeous waders and wildfowl at RSPB Titchwell Marsh and finished watching Marsh Harriers heading towards roost and a couple of pints at Brancaster Staithe 😊

Great to be out in the sunshine and guiding on my local patch at . Some great views of our obliging Nuthatches, Bullfinch, several Buzzard and a decent flock of c30 Lapwing for my client today but as is often the case here - the Hares stole the show 😍!

Nice guided walk with a lovely group at Carsington this morning, cold and quiet but some great views of displaying Goldeneye, grazing Wigeon, Pochard, Gadwall, a brief Willow Tit, a Great Black Backed Gull and a pair of recently returned Oystercatcher amongst others - poor visibility meant the Divers remained elusive this time!

Top day guiding in the Matlock area today - Hawfinch were on the wish list and we found 3 birds at Cromford along with the ever obliging Dipper pair, 2 Goosander and Kestrel to entertain us in between views.

5 Crossbill and a hunting Gos later in the day were the icing on the cake!

Red-Throated Diver at Carsington Water today was a county ✔️ for me and showed wonderfully well at times. The regular wintering Great Northern Diver was also present as were the Scaup too, as well as a great selection of other wildfowl (Goldeneye, Wigeon, Pochard, Gadwall, Teal and Grebes) with a Willow Tit and Cetti's Warbler at Millfields and a Red Kite over - a good day's birding at this superb site! 😊
