Hi everyone, I recently reviewed the fabulous Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club for my travel blog, Travel with Kat. We had a great time exploring the area. There's no end of walking trails to discover and I have to admit, going to the home of 'Winnie the Pooh' transformed me into a six-year-old again!

I'll be writing about some of the trails soon on Sussex Walks but in the meantime, you can read about them here. under 'Things to do in Ashdown Forest.'

Foraging is a great way to reconnect with nature. It teaches us about our local environment while instilling in us a sense of stewardship be it in a city park or the open countryside. Here are my notes on responsible and safe foraging.

Exploring a new Sussex footpath... new to me at least brought us to The Crate near Bosham Harbour. I highly recommend their vegan chocolate cake. Their bagels, coffee and smoothies are great too.

The footpath leads from/to the car park west of The Crate Cafe to Colner Creek from where you can follow it south to Bosham (at low tide) or, if you head west over the bridge, round to Chidham and Nutbourne.

Another lovely day earlier this week, hosting not one but two walks. We started in Halnaker for a morning walk through farmland and around a vineyard, along the tree tunnel up to the windmill. Then had a lovely lunch in Arundel at The Swan Hotel before heading out on our afternoon walk through the town up into the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park and back via a lake and a stroll along the river bank. Along the way, we learnt about a local dragon and a giant, a little Sussex dialect, and no end of history dating back to 500,000 years ago! Fabulous day!

**NEW SUSSEX VILLAGES WALK**
I'm excited to have launched my new 'Sussex Villages Walk', which can be taken on its own or combined with my 'Tree tunnel and windmill walk' with a break for lunch in between.
This new walk explores two ancient villages with thatched and flint cottages, the ruins of a 900-year-old priory and one of the finest Norman churches in England. Along the way, you'll learn about Sussex history, folklore and legends. It's an easy one and a half-hour walk although some of it is on rough terrain.
My walks start and end at a 200-year-old pub about a ten-minute drive north of Chichester.

What a wonderful start to reopening! I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined my walks in July. On the whole, we had some fabulous weather and the barley fields were looking particularly lovely as were the clear views across to the Isle of Wight.

Here's a shot of the windmill looking glorious against a clear blue sky and just a few of the wonderful people (and dogs) who joined me. Thank you!! xx

I was so excited yesterday to welcome the first guests back on my guided walks in Halnaker after four months of lockdown. 'Sussex Walks' is open and taking bookings! One of the best things about running these walks is the fabulous people I met, some from Sussex, others from all over the world. I have loved meeting each and every one of you. Here's to many more happy and safe walks with wonderful people over the coming weeks and months.

And thank you to everyone who has followed my page, left a comment or liked a post especially when I was unable to work. It meant a lot. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/experiences/364441
