Today is National Wildlife Day.....and here at My Paradise Found, it's very popular considering some of the locations we have booked for people in the last 12 months!

Where would you love to go and what would you love to see? Seeing any animal in their natural habitat is a truly emotional experience. The first time I snorkeled with dolphins is something I will never forget. A mumma and her calf almost came nose to nose with me.......very special.

Malaysia is an incredible country where you can see the magnificently ginger orangutans in the wild along with other wildlife like proboscis monkeys and pygmy elephants. Take a boat safari along the Kinabatangan River for an unforgettable experience.

Naturally Africa is the continent people's minds immediately veer towards when you're talking about seeing animals. Which animals are considered to be the Big 5 really depends on to whom you are speaking. However, most people consider the Big 5 to be lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinocerossessses ☺️ and leopards. There are so many trips to do in Africa, so many countries to visit I wouldn't want to call one out. However, Botswana.....really has to be up there as a particular favourite. Today is National Skyscraper day! Who even knew that was a thing? There are some iconic Skyscrapers that you should have on your "must see one day" if this is your thing. Today I have selected 3 for you to consider working into a trip.

1. It has to be Burj Khalifa. Not only is it the tallest building in Dubai.......it is the tallest in the world at 828 meters. Here you can experience the thrill of the worlds highest observation deck. While you're there, nip into The Lounge. Spanning the 152nd, 153rd and 154th floors, The lounge features an outdoor terrace where you can sip on cocktails while taking in breathtaking panoramic views of the city

2. Lotte World Tower. It's a bit of a pygmy compared to Burj Khalifa at 555 meters, however this fabulous building in Seoul, has a thrilling glass floored observation deck and skywalk. There are a number of restaurants and bars you can head into including the Michelin starred restaurant Bicena. Located on the 81st floor, it offers a unique Korean fine dining experience with stunning views of the city.

3. The top 3 wouldn't be complete without The Empire State Building in New York City. This now almost petite skyscraper at 443 meters (including it's antenna.....which some people consider cheating..) held the official title of the worlds tallest building from 1931 to 1970. It wouldn't be a trip to New York if you didn't take the express elevators up to the observation deck.

I was invited along to a discussion on some of the smaller islands in The Caribbean this week, Grenada, Aruba and St Kitts. This post is about Grenada.......The Spice Isle 🌴

Was it only 7 weeks ago that we finished off the Easter eggs? Must be nearly time for another school holiday.

And lo and behold there is half term nearly upon us. Next week for most of the country it is half term for our little darlings, and what is really good about this week off is that there is also a bank holiday included.😄 It gives many of us a free day off that doesn't eat into our annual leave entitlement. 4 days leave only needed rather than the normal 5.

Hello Holiday Friends,

I'm bringing things a little closer to home this week, Sicily, the island that Italy points its toe at.

An Italian island famous for Mount Etna, birthplace of Archimedes and Domenico Dolce, one half of Dolce and Gabbana. Sicily boasts beautiful beaches, beautiful food and beautiful architecture.

Frank Sinatra's dad was born in Sicily too, don't you know?

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and offers a variety of different excursions and experiences to keep most people very happy and returning year after year.

Coimbra's soul lies in its fado music, echoing through narrow alleys as dusk settles and has some fabulous places to eat and drink while listening to it.

Aveiro's canals crisscross the city, lined with colourful moliceiro boats. Hop aboard one of these and glide along the waterways, taking in all the beautiful sights. A number of scenes from 3 of the films in the Rambo franchise were filmed in Thailand as were a number of Vietnam war movies such as Good Morning, Vietnam and The Deer Hunter.
