Ready for a trip...? We are now taking bookings again for Mestemounet - half term available!
Just 10 hours drive from Calais and you could be here... weather is still good in the Gers, and the view just as stunning...
We have just had some guests leave who have had a wonderful time away... "In short we had a wonderful time at your home in the country and we are seriously thinking of returning in the Spring, depending a family matters and the ever present COVID. Villa Mestemounet served as a much needed respite in an otherwise hectic and difficult time these last several months. As I may have mentioned, it is one of the best equipped rentals we have encountered in the 30 + years we've been vacationing in Europe. And, of course, one never gets tired of the view. Our first visitors arrive from Limoges this weekend for two weeks and it looks as though the weather is going to play it's part in being wonderful during their stay... Mestemounet welcomes you! The pool is ready and the orchard is looking amazing...

We are excited to be welcoming our first guests of the year in June! Mestemounet is following strict Covid guidelines between holiday visits to keep families safe.
And the weather for this week is looking pretty good!

It's so wonderful to be back at Mestemounet - and Friday was market day so we headed off to one of our favourite markets at Lectoure just 15 minutes by car... cappuccinos and shopping... bliss

We have 4 bedrooms, two with superking beds (why not) and the rest with twin beds - and the best bit is that all of the rooms overlook the meadow, the orchard, and of course the glorious views... Message us for rates to save on booking fees! Bookings now being taken from September onwards...

The perfect get away - when we can... It's just 10 hours drive from Calais to Mestemounet and the sunshine...Hope on the Eurostar and in half an hour you will be in France! Motor down motorways and dual carriageways that are generally quiet and you will be in time to sit on the terrace for sundowners... Bookings being taken from September onwards, enquire for rates...

La Romieu...There is SO much to do near our home. Just five minutes up the road is the gorgeous village of La Romieu. A little bakery (with amazing bread and patisserie), a small deli, and two lovely restaurants. We quite often will have an evening meal in one of the restaurants in the square, or sit and have a morning cappuccino (or ricard!) There are bikes to hire here and beautiful gardens nearby (La Corsiana)...

One of the many reasons we chose this corner of France is the glorious weather - the summers get as hot as the Cote D'Azur (this year we had temperatures in the 40's!) but the weather is always reasonably warm.
March temperatures are 15 degrees onwards
April 18 degrees average
May 21 degrees average
June 25 degrees average
July 28 degrees (and hotter!)
August 28 degrees and above
September 25 degrees average
October - still lovely and warm around 20 degrees
November and December still fairly mild, some foggy days but usually blue skies.
Jan and Feb are cold days with milder days in between.

Not many people know about Gascony - the countryside is stunning - rolling hills, ridges where once the Musketeers rode on horseback, fields of sunflowers, hilltop villages, beautiful castles and no light pollution as Gascony is an agricultural area... It's no wonder people stop here and don't continue their journey... we will be sharing lots of photos of this gorgeous countryside over the months ahead...
