👨‍👦The work doesn’t stop at weekend, and neither does being a parent!

❗ Here’s Matt's son Ralph, joining us for a property visit recently - we went out to investigate a heating issue - it had stopped working

🔨 Ralph checked the pipework and decided on the best solution - which meant happy guests and owner within a couple hours of the issue being reported

⏰ We don't clock off and forget about work - we're here for when guests or owners need help!

(By the way - Ralph isn't actually a member of our maintenance team - but please don't tell him that)

⛅ Stopping with Skies Holidays over half term?

🔑 Many of our properties use a self check-in and check-out method. That means the key is stored securely in a lockbox for you to access on arrival.

📩 We’ll send you all the details you need to access the lockbox before your holiday starts, so check all our emails carefully and make sure you have the information you need.

📞 If you lose/delete the lockbox details - don’t panic, give us a ring and we’ll be able to sort you out.

🕓 Our check in/check out times still apply, so make sure you plan your journey to the lakes accordingly as you won’t be able to access the property before your check-in time. Similarly, make sure you are ready to leave by 10am at the end of your holiday so our fabulous housekeeping teams can get everything clean and shipshape for our next guests!

: Windermere town isn’t actually on Lake Windermere. 😮🤯

That honour belongs to its near-neighbour, the town of Bowness-on-Windermere.

🏡 Over time, the two villages have merged, although they both retain separate centres, each with their own unique character. The centre of Windermere town is around a mile and a half (or a 20-minute walk) from the shores of its watery namesake.

🚢 So, if you want to stay ON Lake Windermere, book one of our Bowness properties. Or, book one of our Windermere properties if you’d rather be closer to amenities, eateries, and transport links. 🚂

Either way, you’ll enjoy the best of both Cumbrian worlds.
