We couldn't agree more...

Is this the perfect spot for takeaway fish and chips? We think so… Watching the world go around the harbour, dodging the local seagulls when they come out to ‘play’ and looking ahead to an afternoon on the beach - proper nostalgic feelings that summer in Padstow brings in abundance.

There is a harbour here where boats and other sea vessels can pay to launch, to enjoy the calm waters of the Camel Estuary. The beach is also a popular spot for fishing, with plenty of opportunities to catch mackerel, bass and other local fish.

With the new rules coming in today for 'dogs on the beaches' there are still plenty of beaches which welcome our four legged friends year round. Cornwall is still 'open for dogs'.

*** TOMORROW ***
The seasonal rules apply from the 15th May until 30th September (inclusive).

Best of both!!
If you have a dog, you can enjoy the beach before 10 and after 6.
On the hotter days, this is a wise move, irrespective of beach rules, because the floor gets too hot and uncomfortable for unprotected paws, and the temperature in a car rises to critically unhealthy levels even when the window is left open.

If you prefer to enjoy the beach with no dogs (maybe the odd one or two if rules are broken), then come between 10 and 6.

Remember, there are beaches just one mile away where you can take your dog all day if the conditions are suitable.

Please watch your dog at all times.
