TRAVEL UPDATE - UK Government Removes Pre-departure Test Requirements from Friday 7th January.

The Government has confirmed the removal of its pre-departure test requirements for passengers travelling into England.

PCR tests and self-isolation on arrival will also be removed, with the government reverting to its previous requirement of a lateral flow test to be taken within 48 hours of arrival and, if positive, a PCR test to check for variants.

The changes to international travel rules will come into effect from 4am on Friday 7th January.

"Travel Update"

From 4am on Tuesday 7 December, all people aged 12 years and over must take a PCR or LFD COVID-19 test before they travel to England from abroad.

This test must be taken in the 2 days before your service to England departs and will apply whether you qualify as fully vaccinated or not.

If your journey to England is a multi-leg journey, you must take the test in the 2 days before the start of the first leg.

This is in addition to last weeks announcement regarding day 2 PCR testing and self-isolation.

Another accolade for Travel Counsellors this year. What an achievement!!!

There has definitely been many challenges to face since I set up my own business in partnership with Travel Counsellors 2 years ago, but this latest award just brings home to me that I chose the best company in the business to be part of.

Well done to all my self employed colleagues who too have faced the most difficult 18 months the industry has ever known.

To all the staff at Head Office who have been there for us all as we navigated our way through the pandemic, which resulted in us being able to keep our business's open and supporting our customers 24/7.

If you are travelling abroad this summer and you haven't already done so I would recommend you setting up your NHS COVID Pass.

This is a requirement for travelling abroad and even if you don't have imminent travel plans doing it sooner rather than later will ensure you are prepared for when you do want to travel.

There are various security measures in place, which vary from user-to-user, meaning verification time can be instant for some and take considerably longer for others.

Digital versions can be accessed by downloading the NHS App (you must be registered with a GP surgery in England), or by using the online NHS COVID Pass service. Paper versions can be requested online or by calling 119 if you’re travelling in more than 4 weeks’ time. You also need to make sure your NHS COVID Pass and Passport are both in the same name.

Positive news today for those of you looking to travel abroad ✈️

Fully-vaccinated travellers will no longer need to self-isolate on arrival back into England from 19th July when travelling from an amber-listed country.

There will still be a requirement to take a pre-departure test three days before travelling back and a PCR test on day two of arrival back in England.
