A bit about us

🐶 Having 3 dogs ourselves we always struggled to find nice holiday accommodation that didn't mean lowering our (very high) standards - why would we want to stay somewhere that wasn’t as nice as our own home?

💕Gerties Getaway was initially bought as as a holiday home for ourselves to be close to family members but quickly we realised there were lots of people just like us that wanted to have time away (with and without their dogs) but didn’t want to compromise on the level of comfort and cleanliness

🐕 Gerties Getaway is named after our “middle” dog - Gertie, now a spritely (and a little tubby) 8 year old Lhasa Apso

The success of Gerties Getaway(and a lockdown change of Career) spurred us on to follow our dreams , "Coastal Cottages Northumberland was established and over the following few years we renovated and opened our other LUXURY dog friendly holiday homes

Amble 🧡🫶🏻 the little port I spend all my time at. Love seeing the area thriving at the moment, some great new businesses and the harbour restaurants and shops buzzing. Boat trips back in action over to Coquet Island for puffin season, weather getting warmer, beer gardens and ice cream shops bustling.
