SOUTH AFRICA TRAVEL UPDATE

President Ramaphosa just announced that South Africa will move to Alert Level 1 from Sunday Midnight 20 September. The new regulations will be published within the next days.

- International leisure and business travel will be allowed again. There will, however, be restrictions to travelers from high risk countries. A list regarding high risk countries will be published.

- Travelers from permitted countries will need to provide negative test results not older than 72 hours or otherwise there will be mandatory quarantine - all will be screened at the borders and repeat tests might be required and applied.

- Downloading the South African Covid Alert App is highly recommended.

- SA missions abroad will be opened again for visa applications and all longtime visa will be reinstated.

- A curfew will still apply between midnight and 4am.

- Alcohol Sales will be permitted from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

- Mask wearing and hygiene measures will remain mandatory. Social distancing of 1.5 meters needs to be observed

My wee man and I recently went on our first glamping trip together, to Bonny Scotland.

My first trip to this gem of a place was 6 yrs ago, as part of a treat to myself for my uhum 40th birthday. The site and facilities have come a long way since then, and all for the better.

Walks in the woods, exploring streams and waterfalls, rustic swings in trees, climbing trees (I couldn't miss out on that!), bike rides, bbq'ing marshmallows, playing in the mud, eating delish food and treats and making new friends. Oh what fun we had, I came home happily exhausted :-)

And that was all on-site at Comrie Croft

We spent 5 nights in a Nordic Kata which had ample room for sleeping, eating and playing (on soggy days). The Kata is equipment with solar powered lights (some even have USB charging points built it), an amazing log burner/stove (if only I could have fit it in my car), enough cutlery/crockery for 6 people, all the cooking and cleaning utensils you could need, along with outdoor cooking facilities on a gas burner and a fire pit - a wee home away from home really. It even comes with an "en-suite" toilet ;-) though you'll still have to take a small walk to the showers at the main complex, which have the better water pressure that my house and loads of hot water.

A definite must, in my books, to add to your destinations diary.

Well folks here I gooooo....my next adventure...

It took a few attempts but I finally made it through to qualifying as an InteleTravel Independent Travel Agent and now I get to pursue my passion as a "job", so...
