Bergerac, France // , along with his dad and two brothers, had the opportunity to visit last summer, in the historic region of Bergerac. Vignoble des Verdots has produced exceptional Bergerac wines on its grounds since the 12th century, and today, Icelandic owner Robert Wessman carefully stewards the estate through modern winemaking while preserving ancient traditions. Bergerac produces a lot of similar grape varieties to it’s more famous neighbour (Bordeaux) such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, and it’s a great (+ often more affordable) alternative to Bordeaux wines.
At Vignoble des Verdots, walk the vineyards that have harvested grapes for generations; go on gourmet strolls around the vineyard or if you are visiting in the last weekend of July, celebrate their big annual event of Les Verdots en Fête at the Vignoble 🍷
