Lisbon, Portugal // We loved our day at Quinta de Sant'Ana. Nestled in rolling vineyards between the breathtakingly Atlantic coastline and the vibrant capital of Lisbon, Quinta de Sant’Ana is authentic Portugal. Frankie, one of 7 brothers, showed us around this family-run Quinta. We enjoyed a guided tour to the vineyards, the flower production, wine cellars and a walk around the gorgeous and historic buildings like the medieval chapel. It's a beautiful place and it's no wonder why so many people decide to get married here...!

Piedmont, Italy// We love this north-west corner of Italy. The picturesque Italian villages dotted across the rolling hills are absolutely stunning! Visit the village of Neive which has a suprisingly lively wine and food scene and meet Valeria from Marcarini () -- who's from a 6th generation winemaking family -- in La Morra where you can learn all about Barolo! Barolo is one of the famous wines from this region, made from the Nebbiolo grape; these red wines are high in acidity and tannin, but often light in colour.

Vinho Verde, Portugal // This beautiful property is only an hour from Porto, on the edge of Vinho Verde overlooking the Douro region. They make lovely organic wines from local grape varieties. We were lucky enough to meet the family and enjoy a tasting with them, which included grandma's cooking! If you're going to Porto or the Douro, definitely stop at . Do you know how Champagne is made?

Step 1: First Fermentation: Grapes are pickled and fermented into still wine.
Step 2: Blending: 3 main grapes in Champagne are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier they will be blended depending on the winemakers preference and the harvest that year.
Step 3: Second Fermentation: The wines are bottled, and a mixture of wine, sugar and yeast is added to each bottle, and a crown cap is put on the bottle. The bottles are then stored horizontally and the second fermentation begins.
Step 4: Aging: 15 months for non-vintage and 3 years for vintage Champagnes.
Step 5: Riddling: Bottles are placed on special racks at an angle, and every few days the bottles are turned to move the spent yeast cells down toward the neck of the bottle.
Step 6: Disgorgement: The neck of each bottle is gently dipped into a freezing solution, causing the yeast cells to freeze, they they are removed.
Step 7: Dosage: The small amount of wine lost through disgorgement is then replaced with a small amount of still wine with sugar.
Step 8: Corking: The final cork can now be inserted into the bottle and covered with a wire cage.
