This is the window at the 'other end' of the sitting room. In what used to be called the little parlour. I can remember my father taking down the panelling and court cupboard that separated it from the rest of the sitting room. (Safely stored for repurpose all these years). Had great fun putting on plays with a blanket hung from the beams as a curtain. We had the most amazing dressing up box with dad's old uniform from the HAC and granny's costumes from Edinburgh Opera Company and forgotten evening dresses and gloves.

So I didn't know this but Maureen made this. She was living in King Homes in Daikanyama, Tokyo. Around the corner was a pottery place that offered classes. She was encouraged by her friend Keiko Takahashi. She made a coil of the clay wound it around and then smoothed it. ... I has always thought it was a special artist-made piece. I guess it really is!

Can't really decide where to put our beautiful ottoman! I'll just have to keep moving it around. Thank you x
