Impact Uganda 2023

Overview:
Built in Wakiso District, west of Kampala, meet our solar powered water micro grid. This new water system will now eliably provide up to 8m3 per day of clean, safe drinking water across 4 community access points. This is enough to sustain a population of 2,000 Ugandans.

Huge congrats to for successfully implementing the 2022 Rugby Partnership with Uganda’s North Road Primary School. Hundreds of students and PE teachers were able to enhance their skills as a result of the week-long rugby clinics. The coaches and ED7 staff also rolled up their sleeves and gave a complete makeover to 2 of the 5 school blocks. Best part is that this is only the start of what promises to be a beautiful and mutually rewarding 5-year partnership. 💪💪🏉🇦🇪🇺🇬

Stronger together. Our group of 40 volunteers would never have achieved our goal of planting 1,000 trees in just 1 day if we didn’t have the support from the energetic students at Kibungo Primary School in Nyamata school. Thank you so much for helping us achieve our target!

We could not have asked for a better partner than .
With over 20 years of experience planting trees in Rwanda and working with school children. We learnt so much about the fundamentals of reforestation and the impact we had with the 1000 trees that we planted together.

Edrington teamed up with Impact Adventures for a mangrove planting taster session at Al Zorah Nature Reserve in the UAE. Each planting experience includes a talk on the mangrove tree and why they are so crucial in our fight against climate change.

What a beautiful and tranquil experience it was! A great team vibe was assured as we kayaked with our knowledgeable guides through secluded and shaded mangrove spots to reach our ‘propagules’, before then responsibly planting them within the reserve.
Overall a fantastic introduction to an activity gaining global attention as a means to protect our coastlines and sequester 4-6 times more carbon than rainforests can!

Impact Adventures has partnered with Aqdar & Quest for Adventures to plant 50,000 Mangrove trees. The Tree for 50 initiative is part of the country's efforts to reduce the repercussions of climate change and safeguard a sustainable future for current and future generations.
For every tree planted part of our Tree for 50 campaign in the UAE; one tree is planted on your behalf in Tudor Creek, Africa.

Happy UAE flag day!
50 years and counting, as we celebrate the UAE jubilee we have partnered with Aqdar & the Ministry of Interior to plant 50,000 Mangrove trees. The Tree for 50 initiative is part of the country's efforts to reduce the repercussions of climate change and safeguard a sustainable future for current and future generations.

Part of our Impact Rwanda initiative it was important for all of us (adults and kids) to know experience the walk that women & girls do everyday to fetch water from the lake. This makes us feel our impact on the community even more!

Each container holds 20 liters of water (equivalent to 20 kgs) and the walk is 1.5 kms. Not many were able to complete the journey…

Our Chief Impact Officer, Vahid was invited to Aqdar World Summit along with Brian Perry from to talk about the Tree for 50 Campaign which is part of the UAE Ministry of Interior’s AQDAR Khalifa Empowerment Program.
The aim is to plant 50,000 Mangrove trees in the UAE in celebration of the country’s Golden Jubilee and Impact Adventures is the designated Implementing Partner of the campaign.

The mangrove trees help protect the coastline of the UAE, serve as a breeding grounds for Marine life and birds as well as sequestrate CO2. This environment campaign is also in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Action) and 15 (Life on Land).

Impact Rwanda 2021 - Tree Planting
On our last day in Rwanda, we have partnered with & their local partner to come together with the local school children and plant 1,000 indigenous trees.

These fruit trees including avocados, mango and lemons, will help nurture their community and create additional revenues for their families.

Inuma Water Station - Impact Rwanda 2021
“What an incredible feeling to build an entire water access station from the ground up; to provide children with clean water where before there was only dirty lake water. And to have been able to get our kids to help build it was truly transformational. We are not only opening their eyes to the challenges faced by millions of people but also giving them the tools (literally) to have a positive impact. As a parent, there is no greater feeling of accomplishment than this.

Inuma Water Station Day 2 - Rolling the pipe - Connecting & Covering

After 2 days of grueling work (the most difficult being digging the 80cm trench for the pipe) the team of volunteers have completed 80% of the works and 100% of the hard labor activities. Now we have to install the solar panels and do the electrical testing. Everything is on track!
