I was lucky enough to visit an ethical elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand a few years ago during a multi-centre holiday, BUT, if I had known about this offer back then, I may well have changed my plans.

Having lived in the area for over 15 years, it has been great to watch the transformation of this stunning 5 star hotel. The current owner has worked some serious magic and has turned this beautiful Palladian style stately home into one of the most sought-after accommodations in North Yorkshire.

Your stay here will be ultimate luxury from start to finish. At first, you may not know what to make of this hotel. Is it a stately countryside stay, a glitzy resort, a wellness retreat or a foodie haven? There is a very crude treehouse that has been erected (by a local family I presume), in a private plot of woodland that I sometimes pass on a local walk. I often think of crossing the DO NOT ENTER sign to climb the wooden ladder and just camp out for a few hours. What stops me? The fact that the wooden ladder would crumble under the sheer weight of me. 😂

I’ve always loved the idea of treehouses, I don’t know why, but perhaps it’s because they remind me of my childhood, of building dens in the garden and turning bed sheets into tents; there is just something magical about them. As a fully fledged, and obviously incredibly mature adult, I would still jump at the chance to stay in a treehouse. 😉

Part of my travel offer is to bring you hidden gems; beautiful nuggets of luxury loveliness from around the globe. So when I stumbled across this luxury treehouse accommodation right here in the UK, I knew I had to share it with you.

This treehouse is part of a larger hotel site (which also offers the most AMAZING shepherds hut hideaways, and lodges) nestled on a hillside within a 400-acre private estate in the Cotswolds.

During lockdown (the 2nd one I think), I decided to take the leap and become an independent travel agent - yep, another string to my ever increasing bow. A possible bonkers idea given that the whole world had come to a standstill, but what the hell right.

Well now that we can see the light emerging from what we thought was a never-ending tunnel, the travel industry is coming to life once again, and I'm really happy that I invested time in me and my growing business.

Just this week I have booked a wonderful client on a 5* trip to Thailand in October, and another on a Michelin star foodie break in the UK in May. I've also sent quotes for a 5* holiday to Dubai in November, a week in New York during July, a luxury ski resort in Switzerland for January and I've just been asked to look into a 5* all-inclusive break for 2 weeks in May next year. Wow! Talk about 0 to 100.
