I have always had a passion for travel from short city breaks to holidays in far-flung destinations. I’ve personally visited more than 50 countries including some time living and working abroad in China, Canada, Australia & the USA. I love a holiday where I can experience new culture, new activities and get off the beaten track as well as see the sights. Here are just a few of some of my favourite

memories:
Making friends (and practicing my Chinese) with the family who ran my local restaurant in China
Whitewater rafting, canoeing & zip lining in beautiful Whistler, Canada
Feeling like an early explorer at the ancient Mayan complex of Caracol in Belize (we had it almost to ourselves!)
Getting engaged at spectacular Mt Cook in New Zealand
Snorkelling right off the beach at Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia

I had to give this a try on Southwold Pier!
From the 'comfort' of the armchair, it tips & leans as you start on the plane, before a bumpy coach transfer & finally to the warmth of the beach. It was entertaining but I'm pleased to report it is no substitute for the real thing🤣

🐈🐕 REMINDER - Book your pet care for your holiday way in advance.

As a cat is a relatively new addition to our house, I had overlooked arranging holiday care in advance. A stressful few hours followed this week, as I called around all my local catteries hoping for cancellations before I found someone with space. Phew!

Next time I'll be booking at least 3 ideally 6 months in advance if I can. I'm sure most pet owners are well aware of this already.

I can't post this without a photo of said cat - so here he is!
