From the dream to the Travel

I am a mother of 3 children, wife to a very supportive husband and totally in love with travel! I was born and raised in South Africa and lived there for 25 years during which I earned a masters degree in Cultural History at the University of Stellenbosch. My final assignment included working with guesthouses in the Western Cape and how they can convey the unique culture of the region to the tourist. My husband and I moved to England a year later and I fell in love with the tourism industry on the first day in my new role as a travel agent. I worked on the high street for many years - starting at First Choice and later working for an Independent company - focusing on tailor-made holidays worldwide. I loved every second of this and we used every opportunity to travel and see the world first hand! I’ve seen the world through numerous educational trips with various tour operators and, being South African, became a specialist in African experiences and safaris. My husband and I are passionate skiers and booking ski holidays give me great joy! A simple Greek cruise years ago expanded into a love for the big operators and I specialized in cruise bookings during my time in the independent business. Travel became a part of my dreams and a part of my very being!

The time arrived to start a family and I left the travel business to raise my twin daughters (and later my son). 10 years on and my children love travel as much as we do. We’ve been on many a family and ski holiday with the kids! My love for the travel business and my passion for everything to do with travel called me back to the world of travel. I became a franchisee member of Explorer Travel (ABTA L3832) and the incredible journey has led me to the most amazing travel family. The knowledge within the franchisee family and the care and love that goes into each booking is second to none.

Over the years I struggled with real life mummy problems when it came to booking a get-away. Finding the time to search for anything online was near impossible. Fitting 5 family members into a European hotel only having space for 4 made for a real obstacle. Trying to cook a meal whilst trying to organize a family holiday and not making mistakes whilst putting names and passport details in the system is beyond difficult. That is where my passion for family holidays was born. I want to help mums book that special trip without the stress, without worrying how to fit a big family in a room and without taking risks or making mistakes and loosing money online.

What is my answer to the problem? A caring travel agent who listens to your needs as an individual - your likes, your dislikes, your preferences and your dreams - that’s what is most important when finding you your perfect holiday! I would like to become a friend who adds a personal touch to every holiday. It is not just about the travel - it is about the dream that leads to the travel! And that is where DREAM2TRAVEL comes in!
