We are delighted to publish the 2023 Explore Kintyre & Gigha Events and Festivals Calendar/Diary.

There are a huge selection of events including music, sport, drama, food & drink, Christmas events, fairs and exhibitions included so there’s lots to do throughout this year.

As more people come to discover the wonders of Kintyre, and indeed Scotland as a whole, please be mindful of other road users. The use of motorhomes on some of Kintyre's more windy single track roads can be problematic, especially if you actually can't reverse them! If you are in doubt, then take the safe option and avoid these if possible. Always try to plan ahead, and have your overnight layovers booked to avoid congestion. Don’t forget to pack your clubs as there’s six breathtaking golf courses across Kintyre and Gigha with views like no other - some of the best in the world!

The award-winning Machrihanish Dunes Golf Course opened in 2009 and has received numerous recognitions since. It may be 'new' but it is steeped in history with links to the original golf course architect, Old Tom Morris, and more recently David McLay Kidd. Tarbert, the gateway to Kintyre, is a beautiful harbour village with a rich history of Scottish Kings and Vikings. To the south is the picturesque village of Skipness and the nearby ferry to Arran. These two settlements offer a wealth of history, culture and, of course, seafood!
