The River Club Livingstone
Thinking of visiting Victoria Falls?
Then let us book you into The River Club Livingstone Zambia.
It is a charming oasis on Zambia’s mighty Zambezi River, 11 miles upstream from the town of Livingstone and the Victoria Falls – a World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Eleven luxury suites (including three with private decks and plunge pools and a 2-bedroom villa), with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors, are renowned for their romantic ambience and spectacular views over pods of hippo into the Zambezi National Park.
Each room looks west into the African sunset, best viewed from the privacy of the ball-and-claw bath.
Soaked in ambience and history, the restored 1940s Edwardian homestead has a comfortable lounge, dining room, library and veranda where breakfasts and teas are enjoyed.
Midday meals are often served in the lush gardens beneath the trees. The gazebo and the Summer House (with a snooker room) provide alternatives for private dining.
The pool seems part of the river itself, a secluded deck provides respite and beauty treatments are available in the Wellness Centre.
The running track on the secure property, gymnasium, and all-weather tennis court is ideal for the energetic.
A host of activities await young and old, on the property and around Victoria Falls. Activities (on a fully inclusive rate) include a Victoria Falls tour on the Zambian side, daily sundowner cruises, tiger fishing, and visiting a nearby village. Others (at extra cost) include white water rafting, bungee jumping, abseiling, canoeing, and flights over the Falls.
The area is steeped in local history and rich in wildlife; hippos and elephants are seen regularly and birdlife is prolific.
The River Club is also an ideal destination for families.
The Lodge is set on a 50-acre secure property with sprawling gardens and is partially accessible.

Some would wonder where the QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK is located. It is in the Western Region of UGANDA, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri. The park was named after the HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1954 following her visit.
The park is home to 618 bird species which is the 6th highest diversity in the world and the highest in Africa making it a perfect destination for Uganda Birding Safaris, in addition to 10 primate species like chimpanzees and 95 mammals including the big 5 but excludes white Rhino.
Here you will find:

The Kazinga Channel: this is a 32 kilometre long natural water channel that connects Lakes Albert and George and is home to the world's largest concentration of hippos. Large concentrations of Nile Crocodile and elephant can also be found here.
Kasenyi Plains, also known as Mweya, are mainly occupied by large heard of Uganda Kobs.
Kalinzu Forest: is an essential ecological forest containing over 400 species of trees, more than 300 species of birds, and 6 different primate species, including chimpanzee, colobus monkey, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys.
The Kyambura Gorge pronounced Chambura with its 100 meter deep valley is the magnificent valley of the apes.:
Mweya Peninsula is a stretch of land that protrudes into Lake Edwards. It has a chunky grass cover with dense vegetation dominated by candelabra and thorny bush: It is commonly visited during game drives as it offers perfect game viewing.
Lake Katwe is an ancient saltwater lake. It is fed by a number of streams without an outlet making it very salty.

Augrabies Fall in full flood.
http://www.vumbuaafrica.com | [email protected]
Augrabies Falls & National Park – Northern Cape South Africa.
The Augrabies Falls can be found on the Orange River, the largest river in South Africa. The falls are with the protected area of the Augrabies Falls National Park which is situated about 75 miles (120km) west of the town of Upington.
The Augrabies Falls National Park covers an area of 820 km² and stretches along the Orange River. The area is very arid. The waterfall is about 60 metres high and is awe-inspiring when the river is in flood. The gorge below the falls averages about 240 m deep and runs for 18 kilometres. The gorge provides an impressive example of erosion into a granitic basement.
The original Khoikhoi people named the waterfall Ankoerebis, meaning the "place of big noises". The Trek Boers who later settled in the area derived the name Augrabies. There are many deposits of alluvial diamonds along the Orange River and legend has it that the biggest cache of diamonds in the world lies in the swirl-hole eroded into the granite at the foot of the waterfall by the thundering waters.
On the menu of plant species is the enigmatic Quiver tree or Kokerboom (Aloe dichotoma). Traditionally, the Khoisan hunters made their quivers from this tree which dates back thousands of years and which produces vivid yellow flowers in May and June.
The Augrabies Falls National Park offers an ancient landscape that will take you back in time to the world of the first hunter-gatherers.
Just as they did thousands of years ago if you sit silently you might be treated to the sight of a beautiful pair of klipspringers grazing - all the while keeping alert to the slightest sign of trouble from any of the predators, including leopards, jackals and the African wild cat. The klipspringers are not the only ones that are preyed upon. The park is the natural habitat for other antelope species such as steenbok, springbok, gemsbok, kudu and eland. You will hopefully see

The Pearl of Africa - Uganda
‘The Pearl of Africa’, UGANDA, shines right in the heart of Africa and in recent years has enjoyed a boom in tourism thanks to its enormously rewarding visitor offering.
A tiny land-landlocked country, its modest size belies so much largesse: the largest freshwater lake in Africa; 12% of the world’s bird species; and excellent safari viewing with not just the Big Five, but gorillas and chimpanzees as additional and unique highlights.
Lush and verdant, with captivating wildlife experiences to be had throughout its diverse landscapes of rainforest, savannah, swamps, rivers and volcanic mountain ranges.
The people are famed as warm and welcoming and the local food and city culture is worth making the time to experience.
In 1908 Winston Churchill described Uganda as “a fairy tale. You climb up a railway instead of a beanstalk and at the end there is a wonderful new world. The scenery is different, the vegetation is different, the climate is different and the people are different.”
Although you are now more likely to arrive by plane, the other attributes remain true to this day!
Why not visit Uganda in 2022, there is still time?

The Royal Tour -coming April 2022
www.vumbuaafrica.com
Coming April 2022 to a telly near you - THE ROYAL VISIT TANZANIA!
Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has launched a tourism documentary program that will give exposure to Tanzania in the global tourism market, targeting to attract more visitors and investments in the country. The just-launched “Royal Tour” documentary program, a production of Peter Greenberg Worldwide, will be recorded in different places in Tanzania and is initiated by Willem Kuipers, founder of Kili Villa, and travel editor Peter Greenberg with support of Hon. Dr. Damas D. Ndumbaro, Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism.
On the tour, the President will join visitors herself then take part to record the tour for global dispatch and circulation. The recording of the documentary that is meant to promote Tanzania internationally started on August 28, 2021 in Zanzibar, where the President is currently on an official visit.
“The President will show visitors different tourism, investments, arts, and cultural attractions available in Tanzania,” reads part of the statement issued by the President’s Office of Tanzania. The Royal Tour program is intended to strengthen relationships, and to inspire tourism and travel cooperation between Tanzania, other nations, and organizations.
The Royal Tour, the iconic and precedent-setting series of global television specials, has been produced for the past two decades, as Heads of States become the ultimate tour guides, showing their country to travel guru Peter Greenberg. Royal Tour programs offer a unique platform to showcase a country and its people and to provide a better – and credible – understanding of its culture and people through the eyes of its leader.

Visit Rwanda
RWANDA
The lens has shifted on this veritable jewel of the African continent and is now firmly glittering. The ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’ was for many years blighted by the legacy of the awful events of 1994, but now - following concerted and determined effort to recover and rebuild - tourism outpaces any other part of the economy.
It celebrates in its breath-taking scenery and rich wildlife – whilst not shying away from its troubled past; indeed, tourism is positioned as one of the roads of its recovery. Although tiny, Rwanda has the largest remaining single tract of montane forest anywhere in East and Central Africa and it boasts three national parks, including Volcanoes, home to the mountain gorillas - arguably one of the top animal sighting privileges in the world. Luxury accommodation and low visitor numbers make Rwanda a compelling option for those seeking an exclusive and exhilarating Africa experience.
