Beautiful Alykes, Zakynthos, in Greece. I made it.... Flying on Amber from Liverpool John Lennon Aiport to Zakynthos... Many people have avoided travel again this year sadly and it is actually quieter and therefore quicker to get through airports, planes are spotlessly clean for a change and the locals here on the Greek Islands are desperate for tourism to resume after 3 years of no one coming.

Whole communities are struggling in our favourite holiday destinations. Everything here is out side and el fresco making eating out in restaurants safer and more comfortable. They take covid seriously here. I've seen every waiter/waitress, hotelier, shop owner in a mask. Despite a soaring heatwave. Sanitiser on every table and at every store front like home.... We can't hide in our caves forever... This virus isn't going away😭. We must learn to live with it. Rebuild our lives. Including going on holiday and seeing the world.

So I decided to come and see for myself. I have spoken to locals (Did you know I speak pretty good Greek?) And they all tell the same story... The past 3 years have seen such hardship. In scouse terminology... (I am a Liverpudlian after all)... They are well skint lah.

This is the view of the pool here and it is literally on the beach.... Come over! Happy to book you a holiday..... Send me a DM. I have many great Greek destination holidays last minute or anywhere else you want to go in both Green and Amber countries. I will help with whatever forms you need to go and come back. It's really nowhere near as difficult as you might think.

The Marangu Route:

Often considered the easiest and one of the most popular routes to the summit, the Marangu route is used by almost 40% of all climbers and uses comfortable mountain huts with solar power lighting.

It is suitable for those adventurers who are not particularly experienced in the mountains, therefore classified as a moderate trek rather than a climb. Although the trail can be a little crowded at certain times of the year, the views are beautiful and each day of walking progresses through a different climate zone, adding considerably to the interest of the trek. The real highlight is the walk from Gillman’s point along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, passing close to the spectacular glaciers and ice cliffs that occupy most of the summit area. The views as the sun rises behind M awenzi on a clear morning are absolutely magnificent - The Rift Valley, Mt. Meru and the Masai Steppes stand out from the endless plains, almost three vertical miles below.

An extra night climatisation hike can be added on (extra charge).

Price is based on 6 adults on a private tour climbing Kilimanjaro on the Mangaru Route (Bronze). This is a moderate trek and the group will have its own mountain guide and porters. Flights depart London Heathrow or Manchester on 7 June 2022 for 6 nights hike plus one extra night in the hotel on the return (plus 2 nights on the flight) and includes all transfers in Tanzania.
