Beautiful painting of Chester in all its coronation glory 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

David Steeden created this image of Chester’s Eastgate Clock especially for the May 2023 issue of Cheshire Life.
The Cheshire artist paints both plein air and in his studio in Prestbury, Macclesfield, and his choice of topic and medium is eclectic and varied.
Recently he has embraced urban sketching where he captures the here and now of urban life in pen and wash, focusing on the unusual, including backstreets and alleyways.
David is a member of local art societies as well as High Peak Artists and his work can be found year-round in The Gallery in the Gardens at Buxton Pavilion, Buxton, Derbyshire.

Calling all horsey guests…..🐴

Yesterday was a very interesting day Sandhole Cottages
We held a Bitting clinic with Expert Bits for some local riders who wanted to look at making their horses happier in the mouth. I stood and watched all the sessions and found it so interesting and informative.
One of my own horses, Dento, was seen, he could have any bit in, he is so generous in character but I felt I hadn't found the best bit as yet to allow him to connect and ride forward correctly. He often would ride a bit behind then too deep.
Here he is in his new titanium full cheek. He was much more consistent and it allowed his still immature body and frame to work more over and accepting. I'm excited for how this will help us progress.
My boys all have very regular physio, chiro, saddle fit, farrier teeth etc so it's only right they have the best fitting bridle and bit to allow them to work as well as they possibly can.
Thanks to Lisa for a very interesting, relaxed and informative day .
We look forward to welcoming expert bits back in the new year, if anyone would like to join a clinic please message me. We can also organise clinics for those who want to come from further afield and stay with their horses in our stunning cottages and enjoy a fun horse holiday too. Please DM me for more information.
